Everyone knows why Deadpool's suit is red, but do you know why his Slurpee is red? Hmm, yeah, that's not funny. Better question, why is the 7-eleven website useless? I just wanted to verify if this thing has caffeine or not.. The mutant site isn't any better... ok, the regular soda has caffeine.. wait, you stopped reading already didn't you?

I feel like I tried mutant soda at one point, but all you really need to know is that this tastes like cherry mtn dew. I mean more artificial cherry than real cherry, but that's the gist of it. I was a little scared after the first sip because I thought this was going to taste like every other fake citrus slurpee, but I did like (tolerate) it more once I had several sips in me.

Still with me? Ok, this is really just a filler post because it's quite humid and I don't feel like sitting here forever. I would like to give you an update on what's in the post pipeline (once it cools off). I just picked up the last Trio, so there's that. I would like to talk about the return of Steve's Ice Cream at some point (should probably do this next). I still have a ton of Blue Bunny stuff to cover (what they sent over as well as me picking up the Load'd Sundaes on my own dime). I also have a topping review and one more triple-filled review to do. I also just picked up another pint of Big Gay Ice Cream, and I still have the Cherry Garcia pint slices waiting, but there's not a whole lot after that. There's just not a ton of things left that I am hunting for except one other Trio'politan flavor (I've literally found it, but I need a place close to home to carry it)

The truly biggest thing I want to get done is a 2018 product guide. Yes, you could just scroll through the last 5 months of reviews, but I really want a single post that you can reference and see how you are doing in your quest to try everything 2018 has to offer. But seriously, I've let myself push this off again and again and now it's June. I don't want to give up this tradition, though if anyone wants to chime in and say it doesn't really help anymore, I am open to thoughts and comments.

Free Small Slurpee on 7/11 I try the Strawberry Lemonshade Slurpee

Happy 7-Eleven Day everyone! From 11am to 7pm on 7/11 at 7/11, you can get yourself a free SMALL slurpee. That's right, no more tiny 7.11 oz slurpees, no no no, it's 12 oz of frozen slushiness. I've gotten my free slurpee several years in a row now and it's always been a low key affair....

Holy freholy was 7/11 busy, I saw at least three sets of teens driving in to score free slurpees as well as a few other folks. There was one particular set of... "hyper individuals" who may or may not have hit my car with their truck door, sat at a green light and laughed while people honked at them, and then ripped down the street only to wind up flying through some other lights across town and then trespassing down a highway department road several minutes later. This was just one example of several horrendous drivers I saw in the span of 15 minutes. Is it a full blue harvest super moon today or something? Oy.

Anyway, here's my Strawberry Lemonshade Slurpee, and to be honest, it's not that bad. The last several slurpees kind of had this funky generic all taste the same vibe going on, but this one is different. The "strawberry" provides a sweet base while the "lemonshade" provides a big kick and it worked for me. There no strawberry or lemonade bits, but for a slurpee, it was fun. I finally felt like I was having something unique, not just another hodgepodge of artificial flavorings.

One last word of warning: 
You might want to rinse the red food coloring out of your mouth before returning to work.

Verdict?  Strong!
Buy Again?  Yeah

Ben & Jerry's Nutty Caramel Swirl A 7/11 exclusive ice cream

It's 50 degrees and it's sunny.... forget driving somewhere, it's time for a walk... to 7/11.

Score! The new 7-11 exclusive Ben & Jerry's Nutty Caramel Swirl has been snagged! It's only a "measly" $5.49 for this pint though technically I could have bought 2 for $8.99.

7-Eleven introduces new soap flavored Slurpee

Ok, technically it's not soap flavored, but it only took one sip and one sniff to realize this was no Slurpee. It's some kind of mystical carbonated frozen soap, probably more suitable for washing your car or SUV rather than for drinking.

7-11 Purple for the People Vanilla Slurpee

Am I being rough? A little, but 7-Eleven brings it on itself. It constantly uses the same tangy base and then adds a few mild flavors and pawns it off as the flavor of the month. Why bother? I mean, I get the whole getting people's attention thing. A purple Slurpee even got my attention. Sure, the whole vanilla thing was a little scary, but you have to try new things.... and it was purple.... and it was under two bucks.... and it was an excuse to go for a walk at lunch.

Now what part of this looks appetizing? Granted I can make it purple again by stirring it, but frankly that's just why too much effort for me. Actually, do you want to know what's really scary? I can see some people liking this. Like it'll trigger some happy soap related memory for them or something. "Look, this slurpee smells like grandma! Let's go visit her". See, there's a bright side to everything!

Verdict?  Soapy
Buy Again?  Not a chance

Happy 7-Eleven Day with the Fanta Lemon Creme Slurpee

Greetings fellow frozen drink lovers! It's 7/11 today, which means it's 7-Eleven Day. Basically just head down to any participating 7-11 from 11-7 and grab yourself a free mini slurpee. Now every year I complain that a 7.11 oz drink isnt nearly enough to fill me...

And then every year I try to remember why I pick the flavor of the month as my free drink because I can barely finish it. This month's slurpee flavor is Fanta Lemon Crème and like most slurpee flavors, it's disgusting despite being billed as the perfect combination of sweet and tart. It amazes me that they come out with all these flavors yet they always seem to taste so similar. I thought by some fluke I might get a funky lemonade vibe, but no, it's much more of a twisted orange cream flavor with just less orange and more... iunno, I don't taste lemon at all so I don't know what they mixed with it. It doesn't even smell like lemons. To be honest, I don't know if I should drink it or wash my hands with it because it smells like soap.

Despite this terrible slurpee (which I did manage to finish), I still wish 7/11 a happy 85th birthday.

Verdict?  Terrible
Buy Again?  I'm thankful I didn't buy it in the first place

April 2012 Slurpee Review : Mountain Berry Blast

Oy! From 46 degrees to 86 back to 16 and now 56.... my word, make up your mind planet. Luckily with the sun, it's just warm enough to go for a nice walk without the coat. I think it's time for a 7-11 run.
