Ben & Jerry's Vanilla Caramel Fudge

[New for 1994] Whenever there is a big sale on Ben & Jerry's, I like to treat myself to a pint or two of the good stuff. I might pick up one of my current favorites, or I might pick up something that I haven't had in forever so that I can take new pictures and add a quick update to an old review (here is a random example). Well when I picked up this pint well over a month ago, I didn't realize that I had never had it on the blog before... like, seriously, how has this 30 year old ice cream not been on the blog?

Euro News: New Bite Size Treats

Yesterday, Unilever published news (here) about new bite size treats from Magnum as well as a new flavor of bite size treats from Ben & Jerry's. They also mention that the Yasso poppables are doing quite well. The bad news is that these new treats arent available in the US, but hopefully they will be someday.

First we have the tasty and fun looking Magnum Bons Bons. They come twelve in a tub. The flavors are White Chocolate & Cookies, Gold Caramel Billionaire, and Salted Caramel & Almond. I would totally devour all three of these flavors.

One thing confuses me though. The news says this is Magnum's first bite sized product, but they already had "ice cream bites" in their European lineup. Granted those were more of a ball shaped treat served in a tray and these are more of a puck shape, but still... Wait. Magnum Bites debuted in Australia and New Zealand in 2022 and they look very similar to these new bon bons. They had a vanilla ice cream filling and came with either a chocolate coating or an almond chocolate coating. Yeah, these new versions are definitely more tempting.

I had totally forgotten about Ben & Jerry's Peaces even though superfan @sven_and_jerrys posted about the cookie dough flavor way back in early 2022. Well, those original 'peaces' will be joined by the new salted caramel brownie flavor soon. You get ten in a bag.. so maybe two servings of five?

I'm kind of shocked that peaces haven't made their way to the states yet, but fingers crossed for 2025.

Lastly, here's a picture of the Yasso Poppables incase you've never seen or noticed them. I took this photo in April 2023 when the poppables made the transition from box to bag (and from 50 calories to 35 calories per poppable).

So, anyone interested in these treats?

News: More Dr. Bombay Flavors

[New for 2024] Sorry, I took this photo at Walmart back in July and forgot to post it. Tentatively, I don't plan on picking any of these up, but if one of you has some positives comments about the new flavors, maybe I'll give one of them a try.

2024 Dr. Bombay Ice Cream Flavors

Strawberry Cream Dream: Strawberry sherbet and vanilla ice cream, with golden sandwich cookies and strawberry jam swirls.

Baked Blueberry Muffin: Cinnamon sugar ice cream with crunchy streusel pieces and blueberry jam swirls

Peanut Butter Jelly Time: Grape Jelly Sherbet and peanut butter ice cream with peanut butter chips and a grape jelly swirl.

Technically, one of my instagram followers thought that these new flavors were better than most of the initial flavors, so there is that. They certainly sound like they should be fun, but I am unfortunately pretty distrustful after last year's samplings (review here).

More Haagen-Dazs Cultured Cremes

[New for 2024] Do you remember those "yogurt style snacks" that H-D put out last year? If so, have you noticed that they put out two new flavors? That's right, the lineup finally has some chocolatey options. Let's check out.....

News: Would you rather....

[New for Fall 2024] Unfortunately I am unable to hunt for ice cream right now, so let's play a game of "Would you rather" for two new tropical milkshakes. First up, we have the new Witch Please Shake from Jack in the box. It's Ube flavored and has crushed Oreos in the mix.

photo is from the Jack in the Box website

And then we have the new Double Pineapple Mini Shake from Del Taco. It's vanilla shake layered with diced pineapple and topped with pineapple flavoring.

Now, I don't love pineapple, and I've never had Ube, but Marvo did review the Jack in the box shake and said it basically tastes like coconut. He also mentioned that it's not very purple and you can't taste the Oreo (read the full review here). So based on that, I think maybe I'd try the double pineapple first, if only because the menu photo looks like it's some kind of fun peach milkshake.

So, which would you rather try? Or is there a better tropical shake that I'm missing here?  Technically the very limited "Tropical Lime" Taco Bell Mtn Dew Baja Blast Gelato might still be available to some of us, has anyone tried it?

[HAHAHA, I just read a review of someone who didn't want to try the gelato because they didn't want to pay $4 for it. They said that they could get a gallon of ice cream for four dollars instead. Oh man, I would not eat ice cream that costs four dollars a gallon hehehehe - in theory they meant container of ice cream for four dollars, but it was still funny to read]

News: Baskin-Robbins Oreo Monkey Business

[New for Sept 2024] Man that is one tasty looking scoop of ice cream!

I know banana ice cream isn't really my thing, but I'd be tempted to try this one if I could. If anyone out there has had it or is going to get it, let the rest of us know how it is!
