DQ Mystery Blizzard Buddies

[New for Fall 2026] So there was an image circulating on social media that my wife sent to me, and it showed five very cute Kawaii Blizzard Buddies and I thought "this is gonna be awesome".

Not too long after that, we started seeing pictures of the real things and my urge to rush to DQ was greatly diminished.

We were finally in the mood for DQ, and because we didn't want to completely miss out on these, we headed out to pick up some blizzards and....

Blenda the Dairy Queen Blizzard Buddy

DQ Brown Sugar Cookie Dough Blizzard

[New for Aug 31, 2026] Why this blizzard debuted on Monday the 31st rather than Tuesday the 1st, I do not know, but when we saw the advertisement during our last DQ visit, we knew we would be back. Let me introduce you to the.....

DQ Caramel Apple Cheesecake Blizzard

[New for August 2026] Geez, DQ is busting out five new blizzard flavors in the span of 3 months? That's pretty cool right, especially considering that the last 3 three new blizzards I tried were all pretty meh. Anyway, I've got four options to try, but I thinking I'm going to go with the brandy new August blizzard of the month...

DQ Choco Frosted Donut Blizzard

[New for May 2026] It's been a while since we hit DQ at the beginning of the month rather than towards the end, and honestly, we wouldn't have rushed back unless I hadnt seen that the new blizzard is the...

DQ Strawberry Angel Food Cake Blizzard

[New for April 2026] Since the Snowdrift Blizzard was such a let down, I've been patiently waiting to try...

DQ Strawberry Angel Food Cake Blizzard

(angel food cake, strawberries, and soft serve)

DQ Oreo Snowdrift Blizzard

[New for Jan 2026] Maybe it was the blue coloring, or my general love of cookies & cream, but I had high hopes for this blizzard. Too high honestly.

DQ Caramel Toffee Cookie Blizzard

[New for Fall 2025]  We've been putting most of our energy in to trying all of the cool local places in Worcester County (and beyond), but there is a new blizzard on the menu, so let's order a....

Dairy Queen Caramel Toffee Cookie Blizzard

DQ Superman Cake Batter Cookie Dough Blizzard

[New for June 2025] Who's excited for the new Superman movie? I know I am, as our several people I know. I'm hoping we get back to what makes Superman such a great character. I've just never dug the Henry Cavill / Zach Snyder version of Superman (though I am a huge fan of the Tyler Hoechlin version). Anyway, before the movie comes out next month, the blizzard is here now!

DQ Confetti Cake Blizzard

[Returning for April 2024] You might remember my post from several weeks ago where we went to DQ and I was served the Cotton Candy blizzard instead of the Confetti Cake blizzard. Well, we made it back on 4/26 and I was able to try...

DQ Confetti Cake Blizzard

So, yeah, it's fine...ish, but it just didn't pop in any way. Cotton Candy Blizzard pops. The Sugar Cookie Blizzard popped. This blizzard just went "meh" when I tried it. Maybe I wanted big fluffy chunks of cake rather than small pieces of cake. Hopefully yours will be a bit more exciting.

At least it was better than the Superman blizzard I tried.

Verdict?  meh
Buy Again?  meh

Dairy Queen - April 2025

[New for April 2025] So what's up at DQ? They've got the new Mixing Bowl Mashup Blizzard, the return of the Confetti Cake Blizzard, and...

DQ Dipped Strawberry Cheesecake Blizzard

(choco chunks, strawberry topping, and cheesecake pieces)

You can't see the cheesecake, but it's in there. My wife has been getting a strawberry cheesecake blizzard the last few DQ trips anyway, so this was an easy choice for her and she said it was good.

As for me, I ordered the returning Confetti Cake blizzard, but the person on the radio heard "Cotton Candy" because my voice gave out for a second. I corrected it and they put confetti cake blizzard on my order/receipt.

Welp, we get our order, drive down the road for a moment and pull in to a parking lot to enjoy our treats, but I don't have a confetti cake blizzard. I have a cotton candy blizzard. I'm sure DQ would have fixed it if I went back, but part of me hates the return process and the other part of me hates wasting, so I just ate it. It's not like the cotton candy blizzard isn't tasty (especially with a side of french fries, which I had).

We will probably head back next week for confetti cake, and then the week after for mixing bowl mashup (though it feels like we've had this blizzard before). Actually, next week is Easter.... but the week after is April vacation, so who knows when the next DQ trip will be.

DQ Orange Cream Shake

[New for 2025] Orange is not a go to flavor for me, but I did need something to go with my French Fries, so I tried....

Dairy Queen Orange Cream Flavored Shake

"a refreshing tart orange shake"

DQ Peppermint Hot Cocoa Blizzard

[New for Dec 2019] The Peppermint Hot Cocoa is back, and that's a good thing, because apparently I forgot to review it in 2019 or 2020. It seems like it's right up my alley, so let's take a spoonful of...

Dairy Queen Peppermint Hot Cocoa Blizzard

DQ Picnic Peach Cobbler Blizzard

[New for Spring 2024] When you heard about the new peach blizzard at DQ, could you imagine what it would taste like? After trying it today, I can say that it probably tastes like how you imagine. At least it did for me.

DQ Frosted Sugar Cookie Blizzard

[New for Late 2022] How did I miss trying this one last year?

Dairy Queen Frosted Sugar Cookie Blizzard

DQ Caramel Fudge Cheesecake Blizzard

[New for 2022] Yes, we are back at DQ! Wait, that probably doesn't make sense unless I mentioned that we were there a week before to get the always enjoyable, annual pumpkin pie blizzard fix. Anyway, we went back to try a blizzard that actually debuted last year.

DQ Caramel Fudge Cheesecake Blizzard

cheesecake pieces and fudge covered salty caramel pieces in softserve

(thought I saw caramel in the mix too but...)

DQ Cake Batter Cookie Dough Blizzard

[New for July 2023] This latest blizzard is.... fine. Not amazing. Not bad. Just fine.

Dairy Queen Cake Batter Cookie Dough Blizzard

soft serve mixed with cake batter flavor, confetti cookie dough pieces and sprinkles

I don't feel like I have a ton to say about this one. It's got a respectable cake batter flavor without being too strong or too sweet. The sprinkles are cute but inconsequential. The cookie dough is nice and soft, but my wife's blizzard had twice the cookie dough that I did. I was partially counting my cookie dough bits and I'm not sure I made it to double digits.

Overall a decent blizzard. My wife had the thought of mixing in strawberry so maybe we'll go back and do that before the month is over.

Verdict?  fine

Buy Again?  probably

DQ Oreo Brookie Blizzard

[New for Spring 2023] After a bit of afternoon shopping, it was food time. The lines were too long at Uhlman's, so we headed over to the nearest DQ to check out....

Dairy Queen Under the Rainbow Shake

Dairy Queen Triple Truffle Blizzard

[New for Feb 2023] Doh! I went to DQ on Monday and totally forgot to post about it. Sorry about that. This one is the February Blizzard of the Month and it definitely carries some Valentine's Day vibes in the branding. I haven't had anything nutty in awhile, so fingers crossed that it's good.

DQ Cinnamon Roll Centers Blizzard Treat

[New for Sept 2022] We had a few hours to burn on Saturday, so we decided to stop at DQ and check out the new fall blizzard menu. I decided to go with the September blizzard of the month.
