[New for 2018] Incase you missed it, there's a lot of hate out there for these lackluster Museum of Ice Cream Pints. People have an (understandable) bone to pick with something that basically bills itself as amazing and fails to deliver. My question to you is though, does that mean it tastes terrible? It can be easy to both underwhelming and terrible, but I'm not sure we have that here.

[By CT, 2018-2019] Over Labor Day weekend, my 9-year-old son made the observation that I had put on some weight. A quick stop on the scale and a look back and records of my weight revealed that in the last two years, I had put on about 25 pounds. It was an eye-opening moment and caused me to quickly adjust my food intake over the past couple weeks.

With a reinvigorated desire to shed pounds and eat better, what's a guy to do if he wants some ice cream? Well, along comes Dubba and says, "Hey, wanna try some Slim Twin Ice Cream?"

It seemed like forever that my only choice was the one outside Boston (meaning it was 70-75 minutes from my house). That's too far to go, but guess what? There are now 6 Sonics in my area and it's time for a family snack break.

DQ Snickerdoodle Cookie Dough Blizzard

[New for September 2018 - Blizzard of the month for October 2018]
Alrightly, Dairy Queen's new blizzard menu went active this weekend. Now the unsurprising thing is that the Pumpkin Pie blizzard is the blizzard of the month. It's excellent if you have never tried it and it seems like it should basically be called the blizzard of the season at this point. That said, the rest of the limited offerings are pretty diverse. One, the excellent Reese's Outrageous blizzard stays on the menu awhile longer. Two, the Oreo Hot Cocoa (from Nov 2017) and the Dipped Strawberry Blizzard made with Ghirardelli (from Feb 2018) are back. Lastly, we have an actual new blizzard and I will just skip ahead and say it's pretty good.

What flavor do you miss most?

Whether you've been eating ice cream for 50 days or 50 years, what flavor do you miss more than any other? If I asked instagram, I feel like these would be two of the top choices:

Ben & Jerry's Flavor Graveyard : Oatmeal Cookie Chunk & What a Cluster

Yup, we stopped by the super crowded Ben & Jerry's Waterbury Plant on the way back from Burlington this weekend and did a quick spin through the gravestones and people in the flavor graveyard. Oh how this place is busy during the long labor day weekend. Anyway, I -think- I tried oatmeal cookie chunk but it was before I started documenting my time in the freezer aisle. What a cluster (aka clusterfluff) was delicious. I would be happy to scoop either one of these again.

So, what flavor do you miss more than anything? It doesn't have to be a Ben & Jerry's flavor that you miss. I think the two long lost items I think about most are 1980s style Breyers and Blue Bunny Sedona treats. With so many health trends coming and going, it's a little funny to think we don't have a good granola focused treat out there right now (outshine is probably the closest thing we have right now). Me thinks it's a missed opportunity.
