Instead of a 5.9oz 8-pack box coming from Germany, they are now a 7.9oz 8-pack coming from California. I didn't know until 30 seconds ago. I never got around to trying the old version, but when I saw these pop up on TIB today, I knew I should go shopping.

Mr. Green Tea Ginger Ice Cream

As I (sadly?) pace back and forth down the freezer aisle trying to discover something that catches my interest, I realize that I have been playing it safe recently. While this blog has always been about encouraging you to try new things, I couldn't help but find myself reaching for the safest of the Mr. Green Tea flavors... Madagascar bourbon vanilla ice cream which apparently isn't even on their website. The MGT site does list chai latte, ginger, black sesame, green tea, red bean and fortune cookie. I really wanted fortune cookie but it was the only flavor Stop & Shop (Giant) didn't have.

[By Nick] I've been meaning to check out The Fresh Market that opened up a little under an hour away from for a while now. I've just haven't been out that way or had a real reason to take the trip. Well last week not only was I in the area, but they were also having a 2 for $7 deal on Talenti so you know I had to stop in.

Let's just say that I wasn't prepared for what I saw when I made it to the freezer section. While I expected to see brands like Jeni's and Steve's, I wasn't expecting to find pints of Three Twins or quarts of Gifford's. However, it was their house brand of gelato that really caught my eye. With flavors such as Biscotti with Italian Figs, I knew I had to grab one of them to try out.

The Burger King Gingerbread Shake A Short Story by Nick

Nick's Disclaimer: This is the overly dramatic version of my experience with Burger King’s Gingerbread Cookie Shake. Please enjoy because I surely didn't.

…and as I awoke from my sugar induced coma, I found myself on the cold pavement of Burger King’s parking lot. The air reeked of regret and the taste of artificial gingerbread lingered on my tongue. I knew I would not be proud of what had just occurred.

So the King is treating us to two new gingerbread flavored treats this year. I love the idea behind fast food chains mixing things up, but all too often we wind up with an epic fail.

This is the new BK Gingerbread Cookie Sundae, and despite my so-so relationship with ginger cookies, I felt obligated to try this one for you guys. I exchanged three bucks for this well covered treat.

Turkey Hill Ginger Snap Ice Cream Review

[2011 was the last run] Yes, I've done it again! I've managed to forget about a container in the deep freezer. The good news is that I just checked and this flavor is still lingering, so if it sound good, you might still be able to find it.

Our unlucky lost specimen today is limited edition Turkey Hill Ginger Snap Ice Cream. It's spiced ice cream swirled with ginger snap cookies and is basically aimed at the holiday crowd that isn't in the mood for peppermint or pumpkin flavors.
