[By Nick] Happy Friday everyone! I'm going to keep this one short and sweet because we all know who Coolhaus is and I've already reviewed the ice cream that goes into this sandwich. So let's get right into this sandwich I picked up from the Niskayuna Co-op so you guys can get back to your plans.

Haagen-Daz Artisan Collection Applewood Smoked Caramel Almond Ice Cream

[for 2015 only, "Regional"] Well look what someone just put out on the freezer shelf! The elusive "regional" piece to the new H-D artisan collection line up. Granted I wish I would have found this last week when I had my $2 off coupon, but hey, it's now 2 for $7 and I know what I'm having for second lunch today. Sure the word smoked scares me a little but let's dig in to...

Kemps Frozen Yogurt Shop Peanut Butter Cup

[By Nick, New for 2015] ‎Dubba has already covered one of these fancy new froyos from Kemp so it's my turn to see what they're all about. He took the most appealing option to me but hey, I'm all for reviewing something when peanut butter is involved.

Graeter's Cookie Dough Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

As part of the free sample shipment from Graeters, I asked if I could try their cookie dough flavor which has just never made it to my area. Now this isn't some crazy new concoction, no no, this is just old school cookie dough mixed in with their top notch french pot process ice cream, so I expect nothing but excellence here.

Talenti Raspberry Cheesecake Gelato #31

[By Nick, New for 2015] Happy Memorial Day Everyone! Dubba and I would like to honor all of those who gave their lives protecting our country. Without their sacrifices, who knows what our lives would be like today. Hopefully you don't use today to just cook out and drink but also take a moment to honor the friends and family who are no longer with us as well.

Serious time over, I have one of the new Talenti Gelato flavors to review. If my memory is correct, all we'll have left to do is find and review Tiramisu and we'll have covered all 7 new flavors (8 if you count the new Target exclusive) for the year. But first things first...

Popsicle Tootsie Pops Review

[New for 2015] Popsicle puts out a few new products every year and while I don't usually rush to try them, these new ones seem pretty unique.

Jeni's Splendid The Buckeye State Ice Cream

[By Nick] For Jeni's enthusiasts, today marks a glorious day. After a listeria scare that forced them to shutdown to clean their facilities as well as destroy all of their ice cream that had been produced, they're back and running with their scoop shops opening back up today. Now I've had this review in my backlog for awhile (I got this pint free from my Whole Foods tour... almost a year ago) and ‎today couldn't be a better excuse to finally post my thoughts about this pint.

Nick in NYC : Round 3 : Brooklyn Bell, Konery, Mikey Likes It, and OddFellows.

[By Nick] ‎Since my last NYC post, I've been down to the city on three occasions for various reasons. I also hit up 3 different shops including OddFellows on two of those occasions because I have a problem. Let's start things out with my most recent trip to Brooklyn Bell, The Local first. Oh, be sure to read the whole post, there's flavors you won't want to miss out on throughout it!

Just some of my stops along the way.

Ben & Jerry's Save Our Swirled Ice Cream

[New for 2015] When Ben & Jerry's announced the Save Our Swirled campaign in March, were you expecting a tricked out Tesla or a new flavor? Or maybe both? Well, it took a little while, but we now have a flavor that goes along with fighting climate change.

Pepperidge Farms Cheeseburger Goldfish and the Nosh Show Episode 55

Hello Nosh Show listeners! It's time to delve in to the minds of four snackers who travel the crazy world of artificial flavors, sweeteners and preservatives among other things. Now what could be more crazy than cheeseburger goldfish? They're nothing I would ever pick up on my own because I still don't get meat flavored snacks, but I'm going to take one for the team here.

On Episode 55 I do share my thoughts on Pepperidge Farm's bizarre creation. Yes, they smell likes burgers and yes they taste like burgers, but why would I want these? And it was really hard to wash the smell off my hands when I was done prepping the photo above.... I guess this doesn't count as thinking "outside the bun". I'm having trouble eating more than a few and the smell has been driving me nuts. I tried to explain it to Eric but it only made him more interested to try them. Open a bag and you'll know what I mean.... but will you dare? and where do we go from here? mix in a few green colored pickle goldfish? hot dog goldfish maybe?

Alright, have a good week everyone!

Graeters Dark Chocolate Mint Crunch Gelato

[Only for 2015] About a month ago, I had a few questions for Graeters so I emailed their old PR company... and their new PR company responded. Basically there are three things going on with Graeters. One, they have a few new ice cream flavors (the usual). Two, their "little less indulgent" lineup is now called "low glycemic" which is fine by mean since the old name was overly complicated, at least now it has a purpose. Three, the gelato lineup has been rearrange a bit. The vanilla with truffles flavor has been retired and been replaced by four flavors that DO NOT have truffles. Now we won't be covering the bananas foster or toasted coconut gelato, but I did receive free samples of black raspberry and....

Perry's Toffee Coffee Ice Cream

[By Nick, New for 2015, lost the Escapes branding for 2016] Along with Dubba, I was also sent a bunch of free samples of Perry's new Escapes line up (5 different flavors in total because they love me more than Dubba). While I was excited to see that I got their Peanut Butter Cookie pint, the apparent Coffee + Toffee trend we're seeing this year makes me think I should start there.

New Archer Farms Gelato and Ice Cream lineup at Target. I try the one with Cookie Dough in it.

[2015-2016: these products lines only lasted for two years and are now gone]

Last week, a couple of fellow ice cream enthusiasts let us know that there were some gelato and ice cream changes going on over at Target. Apparently their gelato has changed format again plus their in house Archer Farms name is back in pint size form. Nick and I were both intrigued and I finally got a chance to hit Target at lunch today and make a nice mess of their shelves to get you guys a bunch of pictures... I hope my Target doesn't mind. Oh, I also picked up one of the ice cream pints, so that review will be after the pictures.

Three shelves worth of choices... where to start?

Cold Stone Creamery Birthday Cake Remix Signature Creation and Nick's 3rd Anniversary

[By Nick] Today marks 3 years of dealing with Dubba's last second posts and having to edit all of his photos. Wait, that's what he puts up and does for me? He's a saint and I couldn't thank him enough for all he has done for me. He's opened up so many doors and opportunities that 3 years ago I would've laughed about. He's become a second father even if he won't adopt me, I've adopted him in my book. He knows when I take over the ice cream world, I'll find a nice retirement home for him to make his sundaes at. I also have to thank you guys for sticking around and for every single comment, feedback and recommendation that you've sent my way. Without your support, I would've left Dubba to review vegan desserts on his own long ago.

Now Dubba does state of the freezer posts when it's his anniversary but I like to do reviews. So instead of showing you the current messy situation I call my freezer (which you can see on occasion in my instagram or twitter feeds. Warning: While my instagram is mostly food related, my twitter is my personal account so follow with caution. I may or may not post about the current situation of my pants on occasion), let's take a trip to Cold Stone and celebrate!

Burger King Red Velvet Oreo Shake

[New for 2015, back briefly for January 2016] Alright, time for a quick review of Burger King's brand new Red Velvet Oreo Shake. That's right, the BK Oreo Shake now has a brother that's filled with so much red dye that you might run for the hills, or at least turn away. Oh, sure it looked innocent enough at first, but then, when it was done, it looked like this.

It was mostly white before in went in the mixer....

[if you'd like to try this flavor, go to their online store and use coupon code OnSecondScoop to get a 10% discount. Minimum 4 pint order, free shipping if you buy 6 or more pints]

The other day Nick was tweeting out about Tea-rrific picking up a sofi nomination for their Chamomile flavor. Now I've enjoyed their chunky London mist flavor and Nick tried their Toffee flavor, so maybe it's time to snag an on-sale $4.99 pint of....

State of the Freezer Address
Seventh Anniversary Edition

Hello everyone! It's May 8th, 2015... the 7th anniversary of my first blog post. Oh man, I can't believe I'm still here. I can't believe you are still here. At this point, we've kind of grown from an ice cream blog to the world's largest ice cream archive really. Over 1300 products reviewed, gigs and gigs of overly technical pictures, millions of words of me talking in circles. In just the last few days, this "little" project has finally crossed the 100,000 page views per month mark. That's just crazy for some random guy with a spoon and a sidekick. (speaking of sidekicks, he gets to do his own anniversary post in a few days, so stay tuned for that). We've couldnt have grown with out all of you visiting and commenting and being part of the freezer aisle, so thank you very much for that. Now, do you want freezer shots first or me babbling first? Ahhh, pictures first...

This is the upstairs freezer where all the current flavors live (stuff that has been reviewed). Nothing you havent seen on the blog except maybe my affinity for frozen breakfast treats. It's a little light on the veggies at the moment, but that's because they are all buried in the....

Perry's Escapes French Toast Ice Cream

[Only for 2015] Are you a fan of Perry's ice creams? Do you ever wish you could take home some of their scoop shop only flavors? Well, this year Perry's has released -20- new pints and quarts in their Escapes line up and they've sent Nick and I a nice selection of them to try. Now not all of them are scoop shop inspired though, some are brand new like...

The Nosh Show Episode 54

Good morning Nosh Show listeners! Are you ready for Episode 54? Clocking in at 57 minutes long, we have fun debating several topics which kind of comes to a crescendo with talk about the new extra toasty Cheez-its. That's right, people "clamored" for those rogue burnt cheez-its so much that they've decided to make it it's own thing, but seriously, does this look tasty?

So the question, did I go a little overboard during the show in defense of non-burnt foods? How burnt is "burnt"? Do you like burnt foods? Do you think they are bad for you? Leave your thoughts in comments, and as always, have a great week!

So Delicious Cashew Milk Frozen Desserts

[By Nick] Recently So Delicious sent me their entire line of cashew milk frozen desserts. Instead of reviewing them individually, I thought it would be best to cover all 5 flavors in one post.

When I heard So Delicious was releasing a cashew line I was very curious. There's a very slim amount of cashew milk frozen desserts on the market and I believe So Delicious is the first mass-distributed line up of its kind. With flavors like snickerdoodle, how could I not want to try this line out? Let's start with the basic flavors and work towards the more complex ones.
