The other day Nick was tweeting out about Tea-rrific picking up a sofi nomination for their Chamomile flavor. Now I've enjoyed their chunky London mist flavor and Nick tried their Toffee flavor, so maybe it's time to snag an on-sale $4.99 pint of....

Tea-rrific Chamomile Ice Cream
Notes of apple and honey from Egyptian chamomile flowers

(out of focus) opening shot

Ok, the first bite was a little weird, but then it starts tasting like oatmeal, well, oats I should say, or better yet granola. It's funky in the way that it tastes like granola but isnt actually granola. Wait, am I scaring you?

There is tea in here but it's so much more complex than that. I wasn't sure I'd like this, and I admt I waited until it was on sale ($4.99) but yeah, this is cool. It's not tea ice cream, it's tea inspired, tea infused, tea honorable mention. (I may or may not have just considered throwing some granola in my pint)

Not sure what else to say. I think this is a flavor where your preferences will have a great effect on how you interpret the flavor profile (duh, like any product does). It says notes of apple and honey but... that's just not how my brain is translating it, but I like it, I like it a lot.

I should talk texture right? Well, honestly, I'm too distracted by flavor, but the texture matches that flavor. To be honest, I'm just kind of inhaling this stuff right now, but if I let it breakdown on my tongue, it breaks down nice and clean because there are literally 6 ingredients in this thing. No gums, no artificial junk, just ice cream. It's not like B&J or HD, and the tea does do change things, but I'm not sure if my pint is a little gritty from freezerburn or if that's just the general consistency here. (Note: not bad gritty, no no, don't worry, everything fits together here).

Ok, one, I really need to stop..... ok, last half of the pint is secure in the freezer. I really didn't expect to like it that much. Two, I want to point out the complexity of the flavor again. I don't know my teas, but there is that robustness of a dark tea laying underneath the flavor. Wow, just wow, I really wasn't expecting any of this. Nice job!

On Second Scoop: and there goes the pint. I took a few bites and I was transported right back to those thoughts of granola or oatmeal cookies in milk. I don't know what it is and I don't care, I am enjoying this one.... but what if I threw a little granola on top, I just have to know what it will be like. Oh yeah, excellent combo. And that's when I made the rest of the pint disappear with the help of some more granola. It was fine by itself, but this combo is great too. If you've been hesitant to try tea-rrific, this flavor might be the place to start.

Verdict? unexpected & enjoyable
Buy Again?  yup!
