Promised Land Midnight Chocolate Milk and the Nosh Show Episode 106

Hey Podcast People, sorry for the Nosh Show break but we are back with episode 106.

As always, much discussion about the latest and greatest junk food. My nosh of the week is the excellent Midnight Chocolate Milk from Promised Land Dairy. They are from the Midwest but have made their way to the east coast and I'm glad they did. I wasn't sure about the price point during the show. I guessed $1.50 for 20oz but it's actually $3 for 32oz (when on sale). That might knock it off the list as a daily pickup for some, but I do recommend trying it if you can as it's very tasty. The Reese's mini cups with pieces are excellent as well (I'm on my second bag now).

[Limited starting June 2017] I'll admit it, I was not amused when GrubGrade posted the news about another cereal shake at Burger King. Granted, I get the marketing progression here. Let's cycle through popular cereals because the reality is that a lot of these shakes are going to be one and done with little chance of repurchase.

Vanillite and the Nerd Lunch Episode 274

Hello Nosh Show Listeners! Wait, I mean Nerd Lunch Listeners! Big apologies for no new Nosh Show last week, but I did get to hang with my internet pals the Nerd Lunch for their 274th Episode. So it was me, CT, Jeeg, Pax, and also Charlton_Hero to figure who is the best cartoon dog.

I know this is an ice cream blog but think about a couple of your favorite cartoon dogs from your childhood and then give the show a listen. I'll give it a tease by saying that one of my pics makes it to the final round! Man I love talking about cartoons. I should do it more often (but not here).

If I can, I like to bring up some kind of nerdy/frozen crossover product when I post about Nerd Lunch. So, what's this crazy pokemon card infront of you? This is Vanillite and he is an icy snow Pokemon. This is his basic form where he is an adorable cake cone filled with vanilla softserve. My son adores Pokemon and wanted to get me a few packs as part of my Father's day presents and this was in one of those packs. Vanillite evolves in to Vanillish which is basically a sugar cone, and then Vanillish evolves in to Vanilluxe which is basically one of those crazy twin scoop ice cream cones. I'm sorry, but I find that highly amusing.

If you are curious, most of the pokemon cards will go in to my son's collection. He is "guarding" them for me. That's it for now, have a great week everyone!

[New for 2017] About two months ago, I posted a shot of six a la mode ice cream flavors that had started popping up at my local Shaws supermarkets. I had never heard of them before because they are just a mere two years old, yet here they are with some fun looking pints and flavors. Every young company needs a hook, and theirs is making ice cream that is nut-free, egg-free and sesame-free. You may be thinking "plenty of ice cream is technically 'nut-free'" but that's not the same with so much cross contamination nowadays. A la mode is made in an actual nut-free facility. Strawberry Showdown 2017

[Both New for 2017] Everyone remembers I love strawberry ice cream right? It's not a daily driver for me, but when the mood hits, a nice strawberry flavor can really be great. Now in general, I would do an actual side by side comparison for one of these fights. However, I only ever see the Yuengling's Strawberry ice cream by my work and my free Gelato Fiasco Strawberry Gelato sample is at my home so we are going to improvise a little.

Are you surprised I'm trying another coolhaus flavor so soon? Well, funny story. They saw my review of their s'mores flavor and were curious about my interpretation of its texture. Apparently it's supposed to be chewier than their other flavors, and to help prove it, they sent over a half dozen free samples for me to try. They sent over everything but their Chocolate Molten Cake (which I would have grabbed first), so let's go with their most unique offering instead.
