[New for 2025] Those new FatBoy pops werent the only thing I brought home from Shaw's the other week. See, I stumbled across the seven pint line up of Emerald Irish Ice Cream which is made with Irish milk, cream, and eggs. These pints debuted just last year and come in Atlantic Sea Salt, Salted Caramel, Chocolate Salted Caramel, Irish Cream, Irish Whiskey, Vanilla Bean, and...

Emerald Brown Butter Irish Ice Cream
"a creamy blend of toffee and butter"

With the fancy gold lid and seal removed, I see a swirl trying to poke through.
(The seal said "If you thought Irish Butter was good, you're in for a treat!")
Hmmm, the texture is... different. Dense yet smooth, like a really solid cool whip.
Ok, so I think it's supposed to be salted butter base with a toffee swirl.
Ya know, it kind of feels like I'm eating frozen butter... I think I smell butter too.

I finally got a decent amount of toffee sauce on that one (it's not almond based toffee FYI)
I think its growing on me. It's a lot more simple and straightforward then expected.
Let me put it this way. When you get enough swirl, yeah, it's interesting enough. When you dont get a ton of swirl, I think a fair amount of people might get bored. It's nice that it's well made, but that needs to go hand and hand with a little ice cream wizardy.
At least these are a full sized pint!
On Second Scoop: I'm liking this one distinctly less on the second serving. It's coming across really weird today. I dont know how to describe it other than to say that it reminds me of an ice cream that's been flavored with alcohol. Mix that vibe with the butter vibe and this one isn't working for me at all today. I won't give up on the brand just yet, but this one might be sitting in the freezer for awhile.

Verdict? comes across weird
Buy Again? I will try another flavor
