DQ Strawberry Angel Food Cake Blizzard
(angel food cake, strawberries, and soft serve)
The first few bites were the best bites. I really was getting vibes of my mom's angel food cake that she puts the fresh, strawberry whipped topped on. Unfortunately those vibes did not last.
The angel food cake vibes faded away into strawberry whipped cream vibes, and while that's not a bad thing, it's also not what I drove to DQ for.
By the end, I became unamused with the soggy angle food cake bites cluttering up the end of my blizzard. They were adding squish but no flavor.
Now my wife added chocolate chips to hers, and she said that helped, but overall I think I enjoyed my blizzard more than she did.
I'm half tempted to try again, but then I'm also thinking that maybe I'd rather go with a strawberry cheesecake blizzard.
On Second Scoop: we found ourselves back at DQ the next day and I gave this one another shot in the hopes of seeing how the angel food cake bits held up on a second try. Well, it's hard to say because there weren't a whole lot of them this time. It was a fine strawberry blizzard, but an angel food cake blizzard, it was not.
Verdict? angel food cake may not be the best mix-in
Buy Again? maybe
