[New for 2010] On tonight's menu is the new Walmart Exclusive flavor Carrot Cake. Just like flourless chocolate cake, you'll have to force yourself to find a Walmart to get it.
Here it is, Caramel Ice Cream with Carrot Cake Pieces & a Cream Cheese Frosting Swirl. Now I had no idea this was coming, but once I saw Rodzilla review it, I knew I would have to try it (I know, it took 2 weeks to do so, sorry).

New! Weight Watchers Peanut Butter Cup Sundae
Labels: nutty - review - treats - Weight_Watchers
Ok, I need to get a review up before everyone thinks I've left the reservation... not to say my mind hasn't left. In fact, if you see my mind hanging out at a bus stop, just go ahead and send him home, thanks!
I've mentioned that I'm pretty backlogged with a bunch of random posts right now. I'm just not sure where to head at this moment. My crazy side says aim for the high fat stuff. My spare tire says I need to start eating "smarter". My lazy side says let's have a bowl of cereal and call it a night.
Oh, and my brain says "why don't you try finding something different?" So, I went to the other side of the freezer aisle and started looking for a frozen dessert but I accidentally stumbled upon an ice cream treat.

This is the NEW! WeightWatchers Smart Ones Peanut Butter Cup "signature" Sundae. It's low-fat vanilla ice cream over a chocolate cookie crust, topped with fudge sauce and mini peanut butter cups. (2 per box) Looks tasty enough, but I'm skeptical of anything that claims to watch weight yet still contain peanut butter.

I made some ice cream quite long ago....
I made some ice cream quite long ago
why I didnt talk about it, I don't really know.
I was very excited with new techniques to apply,
but after I made it, time just seemed to fly by.
Oh, it was a thing of beauty and should have had a good taste,
but I did not record the formula in all of my haste.
Six months have past, yes this is very true,
and if I held my breath since then I would certainly be blue.
oh all would be lost if not for one thing,
oh I have pictures to help those old memories sing!
It all started with Smuckers Limited edition Apple Cinnamon topping,
if I ate this stuff straight my brain would be hopping.
Next I was hit with an idea so grand and profound,
I jumped for joy and my feet left the ground.
I will mix cocoa with the apples you see,
and then all the children will be full of such glee.
Now the swirl is all set, so what do I do?
I will fill it into a bag and move on to step two!
some cinnamon, some sugar, and some milk go in a bowl,
for you see my dear friends perfection is the goal.
In the Ice-20 it goes to make it ice cold,
and then go in the M&Ms to make sure that it's bold!
both parts are ready to go as you can now see,
i'll mix the tubes together and my creation will be!
behold oh behold the mighty ice cream with no name!
unfortunately the outcome is just such a shame...
You see while this is different, the combo is flawed,
and though I have tried it, I am simply not awed.
I meant so well and again I will try,
but at the moment this flavor no one would buy.

DQ Blizzard of the Month: Pumpkin Pie
Labels: DQ - fruity - pumpkin - review - scoop_shop
I had a theory going into this blizzard. If I got a small, I wouldn't like it and would waste half of it. If I got a mini, I would really like it and be hungry for more. The good (yet slightly) bad news is that I went with the mini, and I did indeed enjoy the blizzard (and I was still hungry).

Digging into Perry's Ice Cream
The following review is brought to you by S.J. Velasquez, a 44 cent stamp, and some coupons from Perry's Ice Cream. Enjoy, and big thanks to SJV!
I grew up with Perry’s ice cream. Every birthday party was topped off with slices of supermarket-made cakes and scoops of Neapolitan. Early into my childhood, I left the safety of my chocolate-vanilla-strawberry rainbow and turned to more adventurous flavors like mint ting a ling and bubble gum.
I consider myself a mature and sophisticated adult these days, and my tastes have changed. It’s only appropriate that Perry’s grew with me, offering exciting and experimental new products. So I went to Wegmans – which, like Perry’s, is a local staple – in Syracuse, NY, and snapped up a few new, edgier varieties of Perry’s: two pints of gelato and 1.5 quarts of Buffalo Sabres-inspired Top Shelf.
The two pints of gelato were completely different in both flavor and texture.
(Update: and now both are discontinued)

Have you seen me?
Taste of Inspirations Gelato
Labels: gelato - store_brand
My lunch time plans got messed up, so I decided to make the best of it when I realized that I have no clue as to the last time I checked a Hannaford's for what they offer for frozen desserts. In fact, I may never have checked. I walk down the aisle passed the usual suspects when I spied these:
At first I thought it was... well, I didnt know what I thought it was, other than weird. I looked closely and that stuff on the right is Tiramisu Gelato. The awesome thing here is that it's not just coffee and mascapone flavored gelato, it's actually topped with cocoa sprinkles. What an excellent touch. The container to the right is Panna Cotta gelato which is labeled as Authentic italian gelato made with rich sweet caramel flavoring and topped with almond pieces.
The other awesome looking flavors are triple chocolate, mint chocolate chip, and the dark chocolate you see above. Note the little Italian flag in the bottom right corner. Our little friend here is indeed authenticate Italian gelato as it has actually been imported from Italy. I'm so bummed that I have neither a spoon to try it now nor a lunchbag to get this stuff back to work.
There are also an Armaretto and Peach Melba flavors, but they may be being discontinued. There is no official website either, and this product may be limited to Hannaford, Sweetbay, and Food Lion, the grocery stores which are owned by Delhaize... Yup, it is an inhouse brand, there's more info here. Basically "Taste of Inspirations" is Hannaford's old "On the Go Bistro" premium frozen food line that has been transformed and upgraded to become a part of all Delhaize U.S. supermarkets.
How can such a unique looking treat not catch your eye?
( Yup, it says $4.59 for a 30oz serving )

Lovin' Scoopful So Good Cookies & Cream
A Light Ice Cream Review
Labels: container - light - lovin_scoopful - review
I know that I'm suppose to be a "professional" and subjective, but I've been feeling pretty guilty about not lovin' Lovin' Scoopful. It just seems wrong. It's light so it's good for the belly, it gives to charity which is good for the soul, but Yummy Cake & Cookie Dough just doesn't do anything for me. I just have to stand by what I think I guess, and hopefully not have nightmares about Arnold coming to beat me up for not liking his wife's ice cream.
I wasn't 100% ready for my evening ice cream, but I really wanted to try the other L.S. flavor. It just seems like the best way to clear my conscience. I went down to grab the container since it's now had 48 hours to completely refreeze in a real freezer.
So here it is, So Good Cookies & Cream. It's your standard vanilla ice cream with cream cookies smushed up inside, but to spice it up (like the other flavors), they've added chocolate cows. The container shows lots of cows & cookies, but I'm not holding my breath here.
