[New for 2022] Two new topped flavors (so far) this year.
Chocolate Milk & Cookies is excellent (review here). Will this one be as good?

topped with milk chocolatey ganache & chocolate cookie crumble
chocolate crunchies? I love those!
I take my first bite and it's intense but also kind of amazing. Wow, that is one fun milk chocolate layer on top. Is it Easter time already or something?

I take a few more bites and it's such a huge blast of chocolatey goodness. If
you don't like chocolate, you definitely don't want to try this one.
I take a few scoops of just the base and I get why they call it pudding. I'm
guessing it's the egg yolks in the mix adding that bit of pudding vibe. I'm always up for them mixing things up a bit, and this ice cream does that.
As I eat this, I'm very afraid that the crunchy top is going to explode and go all over my desk...
it's totally something I would do....

Ugggg. that's my favorite part too! Thankfully there are still some stuck on the top.
By making the ice cream vanilla pudding instead of just vanilla, it does give this pint more of a
cake vibe. It's actually got me thinking about the tasty pudding you might find in a
Boston Cream Pie, and that's a good thing.
It's a little hard to stop, but I can do it.... ...Ok, it's in the freezer.
It won't be this pint, but at some point, I'm totally turning this one in to
one delicious milkshake. Mmmmmm, kind of tastes like I'm already there anyway
:)
On Second Scoop: Yeah, I really like this one. It's another flavor that you just keep thinking about (in a "boy that was good, I need to inhale more of it" way). Nice job Ben & Jerry's!

This looks like a glorified cookies and cream ice cream. I bet this will be one of the most popular flavors of 2022.

ReplyDeleteI never had a chance to try the Walmart exclusive Ice Cream Sammie flavor, but this looks like a close analog. Now that Stop & Shop has B&J on sale, I may have to give it a go!
ReplyDeleteMark: This is like a cookies and cream on steroids. It is really, really good. This is one time where the topping actually worked very well as the crumbly pieces could percolate throughout the pint and provided some great added texture and flavor with the ice cream. For whatever reason I wasn't expecting much out of this flavor, but I thought it was one of the best new flavors B and J has had in a while.
ReplyDeleteDubba - Are you going to do the new Haagen-Dasz flavors? I've tried four of them and felt they were pretty "meh" with one notable exception. Keep up the great reviews!

ReplyDeleteI hated this flavor. Difficult to crack into due to the extremely messy and hard top cover and way too cloying.
