Wendy's Vanilla Bean Frosty Shake Review

We've had some rough nights sleeping recently and I was in desperate need of an milkshake pick me up at lunchtime. Unfortunately I was on the wrong side of the highway so I was going to have to settle for a fast food milkshake ...remember when fast food milkshakes were the end all, be all it seemed? Yeah, those days are long gone.

Now I've already had Wendy's Chocolate Frosty Shake, so my expectations aren't exactly high as I decide to try a vanilla. To be on the safe side, I got a small.

I have my treat and it's time to dig in! As I go to taste it, I get a whiff of something strange ...must just be the cherry ...I take a taste. Nope, that smell isn't the cherry, it's the shake. It's kinda tingling. A bit unsettling. Yeah, it tastes like a mild cake batter actually. It's not even close to what I was expecting ...or what I wanted for that matter. I guess disappointing is gonna be my overall opinion on this one.

Consistency was fairly easy to drink, and it definitely looks cool with all the vanilla bean flakes everywhere, but if you want to be a funky flavor, you have to name yourself as such.

and no, don't think I'm going to bother trying to the strawberry flavor. (note: I did actually try it eventually)

  2. I like the vanilla beans add on this, it just gives that extra twist that makes this perfect.

  3. got stuck with the vanilla bean tonight, my best description is frozen milk of magnesia, can't decide between tasteless or non-descript taste, left with a mouth lined with a ground up chalk coating. disgusting, I'm done with Wendy's because i'm not going there to get food, then drive somewhere else for a traditional Vanilla shake. It wasn't bad enough they had to guild the lily with the whip cream and cherry, which I always told them to leave off, I'm glad I forgot to tell them that tonight, at least the whip cream mixed in, helped the chalk to go down. epic fail Wendy's

    1. I had their vanilla shakes when they first came out and they were quite good. Picked up two on separate months from the same Wendy's and on both occasions it also tasted like chalk. Almost no milk in the shake itself as well. I think they are making these with powder now rather than actual milk and ice milk.

  4. Here it is 2018, about 9 years later. I just tried a Wendy's Vanilla Frosty for the first time in my life. I haven't had a Chocolate Frosty in a long time but I remember liking it so I thought I would give vanilla a try.

I took one taste - it was horrible - disgusting. Smelled weird and tasted worse. I brought it home or I would have returned it. Anyway, I dumped it in the sink and ran hot water on it. You know what? It didn't want to melt. It melted eventually but in a strange way, not like something edible. Just gross.

  5. HAHAHAHA, come on, it's not THAT BAD :)

I just had one recently and while not exciting, it's not terrible either. It just kind of is what it is.
