[New for 2019, Discontinued] Well, it finally happened..... all those bare freezer shelves are finally full of new 2019 products! I knew it was close and yet I was still stoked to see three employees blitzing the Stop & Shop freezer aisles this morning. I went back at lunch and found all the great treats that our midwest friends have been finding for the last month. I literally didn't know where to start, but then I figured I should go with the brand that generated so many early hits on this blog. Oh yeah, it's time to dig in to one of three new cookie dough core flavors.

[2018-2020] Time for another Edy's core flavor.... yay? I bought all three together in March (for the sake of instagram) and I kind of regret it. I knew I wouldn't love them, but I thought at least they might tempt my daughter in to helping me eat them. Yeah, no. She's apparently hit her breaking point with Edy's texture (even the grand stuff) so I guess I'm on my own with....

[2018-2020] Are you ready for another Edy's core review? Recently super shopper @candyhunting found a fifth core flavor at dollar general. That flavor rocks a strawberry base and for some reason rocks the brown packaging instead of the yellow slow-churned packaging, but no matter, because that's not what we are covering today. Instead we have the one that tries to lure us in with the thought of cookies & cream (& lots of fudge).

This is one of six reviews in the queue... so let's get started. Now, who would have thought that the #3 would be so cool this year? H-D Trio, Turkey Hill Trio'politan, and now four Triple-filled flavors from Edy's (Dreyer's). It's like the royal blizzard from DQ times three. Why didn't I say it's like Ben & Jerry's core flavors? [New for 2014, discontinued] Ok, so I got a little cranky yesterday when huffpo and eoline both ran with crazy headlines ushering in the new core breakthrough in ice cream technology. Really guys? You can't do five minutes of research before posting? Just go to Ben & Jerry's website and read how karamel sutra, the defacto core flavor, came out in 2002. No ground was broken yesterday, we're just merely introducing the next revision of this concept (which B&J's has already been testing in Europe for a few years now). Oy, anyway, rant over. There are three more core flavores to try. Our Nosh Show bud Junk Food Guy already gave the thumbs up to That's My Jam (our review here), and Nick has confirmed that Salty Caramel is pretty salty, so let's check out the other fudge core flavor.

I know I've passed you up countless times in the past for more exciting flavors. I'm very sorry and I'm here to change all of that. You see, with the impending arrival of your 4 new core team members "that's my jam", "salted caramel" (Nick's review here), "peanut butter fudge" (Dubba's review here), and "hazed & confused" (Dubba's review here), I thought it would be best to get to know the original core flavor. Sure you were a part of another core team in 2002 but you were the lone survivor and that has to mean something.
