Hey everyone, still here. Got a few reviews in the queue that I just can't seem to finish. A side effect of spending all day in the home office is that I have no urge to blog when the work day is done. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way, but I apologize anyway.

Yes, it's time to have a showdown, but not just any showdown, a super Saturday showdown with one of my very favorite frozen things: cookie ice cream sandwiches... or is it ice cream cookie sandwiches? I don't care what you call them, they are delicious. Even a budget version can hit the spot. Now we've versions come and go over the years, but let's see what we can dig up for this competition. We've got a high end Coolhaus option. In the middle, we have a local brand, Bryne Dairy. Representing the more budget friendly options, we have the new Tollhouse option. Which will be my favorite? [New for 2018] So, what do all us old fuddy duddies say? You can tell a lot about a company by how good their plain vanilla ice cream (or gelato) is. I mean, if you can't do vanilla, should I trust you with anything else? It seems like Coolhaus wants to stay true to this question by having two of the top vanilla bean types in their vanilla ice cream. Will I be amazed? And will lots of people chime in like they did on the churro review? (I hope so!)

Are you surprised I'm trying another coolhaus flavor so soon? Well, funny story. They saw my review of their s'mores flavor and were curious about my interpretation of its texture. Apparently it's supposed to be chewier than their other flavors, and to help prove it, they sent over a half dozen free samples for me to try. They sent over everything but their Chocolate Molten Cake (which I would have grabbed first), so let's go with their most unique offering instead.

Nick at the Summer Fancy Food Show : Part 1

[by Nick] Last week I had the opportunity to attend the Summer Fancy Food Show in NYC with my girlfriend. Not sure what that is, well it's basically a 3 day event where companies from all over, not just the US but the world showcase their products for potential buyers and press alike. My mission was to meet with every frozen dessert company there and minus a few I overlooked, I succeeded. I mean, the other booths were cool too but there is only so much meat and cheese samples someone can eat before it all starts blending in. On my latest trip, Damian, the frozen foods manager, pulled me aside and informed me that he had just gotten in a shipment of Coolhaus products. To say I was excited was an understatement. Being the awesome guy that he is, he sent me home with all 4 products for free. Words cannot describe how great this store is to me.
