Target Favorite Day Ice Cream Seasonal Offerings

Wow, just shy of three years since I've talked about Target's favorite day ice cream. It just hasn't caught my attention recently, but then I saw these two weeks ago.

In what order would I try these? I would say...

Strawberry Angel Food Cake - vanilla-flavored ice cream swirled with cake pieces and a strawberry swirl. I would hope it actually reminds me of angle food cake.

Caramel Apple Pie - apple ice cream with caramel swirls and pie crust pieces. Sounds delicious, but this flavor profile can be hard to execute properly.

Mango Sweet Cream - cream cheese-flavored ice cream with a mango swirl. I don't do mangos, but the cream cheese factor has me interested.

Spicy Lime Margarita - margarita lime-flavored ice cream with a salted lime swirl and a salted chili lime flakes. I'm cool with the lime, but they lost me at chili.

I'm back at Target again yesterday, and what do I see but all of the seasonal offerings on clearance! I would have happily brought them home but they were absolutely crusted up in ice.

Tart Cherry Blast - cream cheese-flavored ice cream with tart cherry swirl and white and blue flakes with sprinkles. Tart rarely makes it in to the name of an ice cream, so color me interested.

So, have you been keeping up with these pints? You know what also caught my eye? These pints are now down to 580-630 calories per pint. These pints had 50% more calories 3 years ago. Granted, it makes sense that you aren't going to get much for three bucks a pint, but at the same time, many of us equate the pint form factor with a higher quality ice cream. My other fear would be that they werent fantastic at 900 calories a pint, so how will they hold up at 600 calories a pint.

P.S. I finally got covid and lost a lot of my sense of smell which in turn seems to have dulled my sense of taste. It's hard to review things right now (I'll talk about this more in the next post).
