Jeni's Frosted Sugar Cookie Ice Cream

[New for 4/14/2026] I knew I wanted to bring back something different from the grocery stores today, but who knew which lone pint would be worthy of the "swell" ride home (aka in the pint cooler). Wegman's? tempting but no. Price Chopper? Nah. Whole Foods? Ok, we have a few options... wait, these Jeni's pints say new. I don't know if they are new new, but I need to buy one of those, right? Ok, let's bring home a $8.99 pint of....

Jeni's Frosted Sugar Cookie Ice Cream
buttery sugar cookie custard with cake-like cookies and pink cream cheese frosting

Flavor is everything... mostly.... ok, nutrition facts and cost are definitely in the mix too.

Filled to the brim, nice swirl tease, let's dive in (after it tempters for several minutes)

Only takes once bite to know I'm in for a sugar rush.

Third scoop gets me some soft, sugary swirl.

Fourth scoop has me needed some cookie bits.... but I think I might be already getting them. I think they may be itty bitty rather than giving me a large cake chunk that would break up the sugary onslaught.

Just two more bites and I can take a picture....

See, no big chunks, just tiny crumbs.

This is very good, but I think it's too much for me, at least at this exact moment.

The funny thing is I love sugary things in general, but I just don't do frosted sugar cookies.

The cookie content may have ramped up a bit as I finished up my small serving, so we'll see if that continues. If not, I'm going to have to mix this one with something (I'm thinking that it'd be pretty killer with a slice of cake).

On Second Scoop: I take one bite and think "I mine as well be eating frosting out of the container right now" because it's just that much of a sugar rush. you can try to avoid the swirl and get more cookie crumbs, but then it's still a bit much, but in a different way. Oh well. You have been warned.

Safety note: Bad actors are setting up fake Jeni's websites in the hopes of tricking you in to ordering through their system (I assume to steal your credit card info). I let Jeni's know about the particular site that I stumbled across, but be aware that this kind of thing does happen.

Verdict?  too much for me

  1. Thanks for the review, was really curious about this one since it's cake-adjacent.

"Too much" is probably a good sign for me because I suspect you'd really want the swirl to carry most of the flavor here, I have never really had good experience with the cake or cookie bits in anything Jeni's; the texture always felt a bit off, not quite what you're describing here but maybe if I couldn't tell it would be for the best?

In any case though, really appreciate reviewing this one, and maybe I'll let the intrusive thoughts win one day and actually just get a tub of frosting to eat with a spoon because honestly that thought crossed my mind before this review already.
