[New for Early 2026] When I went back to Hannaford to pick up the Cosmic Brownies ice cream sandwiches, I had a hard time figuring out where they put all the Little Debbie stuff. On my third pass, I noticed them hiding way down at the bottom shelf and laying flat (was someone trying to hide them?) So I see the brownies and the bars, but am confused why the one bar box is way bigger than I remember. I pull it from the bottom shelf and discover...
Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pie Ice Cream Sandwiches

They have a clear wrapper, which means I could pick the most photogenic one.... but unfortunately they all look a little messy and lopsided. Not a deal breaker in any way, it just means that I can't taunt you with the visuals as much.
Now I'm eating this first one when it's fresh from the grocery store, which means it's had a bit of time to temper. The cookies are soft, as is the ice cream, but neither are crazy soft. It's not like some chocolate cookie that's sticking to my fingers, nor is it some ice cream that offers no resistance.
I think the biggest question is: which of these two OCP treats tastes like the OG oatmeal creme pie. I feel like the bars have a slight edge on flavoring, but obviously this one has the edge in texture.
....and I've eaten this too quickly. It happens. I'll try to take my time tomorrow when the sandwich is fully frozen and I can focus on eating it a bit slower.
On Second Scoop: Will this work as part of my breakfast? Oatmeal is oatmeal right?
No complaints on the cookies. Plenty of flavor and plenty of texture. You know how oatmeal cookies can remind you of oatmeal raisin cookies? I hope that doesn't sound too dumb, but that's the vibe here.
Now, let's just analyze the ice cream and cookie combo.... NOM NOM NOM... and I devoured it again.
Deep down, I think I'd like to tweak these a little. Maybe a little more ice cream or maybe a tweak of the ice cream flavoring, but overall, these are fun, and if the reaction to my bars photo on instagram is any indication of how well these might sell, well, it's going to be a good year for little debbie ice cream products.

Have you seen the Nerdy Nuts Little Debbie Oatmeal Cream pie in a jar concoction? They nailed the flavor in my opinion. Maybe the ice cream needs to be an oatmilk based infused flavor or add some nut flair like an almond milk base? Or a mild pb ice cream just to enhance the depth of the flavor profile. I am so excited about these products. I love so many Little Debbie products, and turning them into ice cream seems like a smart move. The nostalgia they always invoke!
