Ben & Jerry's Mocha Mood Pie Sundae

[New for Early 2026] Ever since I saw the chocolate coffee brownie Haagen-Dazs flavor at Shaw's, I've had this weird craving for coffee ice cream. It's a good thing I didn't buy the H-D because it left plenty of craving around for me to try....

Ok, the coffee vibe is real mild because of the chocolate and whipped topping. Let's press on!

Wait, having trouble pressing on, it hasn't tempered enough.... but I'm so hungry!!

This is the coffee ice cream for people like me who don't really like coffee ice cream. It's just those nice notes of coffee complexity hanging out in the background. The coffee is happy to not take center stage. At least not yet.

I do love a nice hearty texture to my mix-in loaded ice creams. I'm not heating distinct chunks so much as just waves of texture change.

Nothing like a nice fix of Ben & Jerry's chocolate ice cream to brighten up the morning.

This definitely reminds me of a few other rich chocolate Ben & Jerry's offerings but with a little coffee bitterness to make it different. That's not an insult, that's a compliment.

Man, this one does not want to temper, though that's probably best so that I don't inhale it too quickly.

Sure, twenty years ago, I probably wouldn't have even tried this one (unless it was free), but now, I'm glad I picked it up. That last bite had some nice lingering chocolate cookie notes... and then there's coffee way in the background.

Having to force myself to put this back in the freezer means they did a good job on this one.

On Second Scoop: I snuck a small serving today after lunch. This one is still really good. I like how this is a chocolate ice cream with notes of chocolate cookies and coffee. It fits in with my older flavor appreciations without shocking me back to my childish dislike of coffee.

Final Scoops Note: I do scoop this one vertically, not horizontally. I say that because as the whipped cream layer fades away, the coffee flavor does become a bit more prevalent, but still enjoyable to me (aka incase you were worried that there wasn't any coffee flavor here, there is some!)

Verdict?  really good!
