You all know that Talenti reusing numbers drives me crazy right? Well, if you didn't, know you do. Case on pint in point is the "new" #85 and #86 in their line up.

#85 Chocolate Hazelnut Crunch will replace 2023's Double Cookie Crunch dairy free (oat milk) gelato.
#86 Paradise Passionfruit will replace 2023's Caramel Toffee Crunch dairy free (cashew butter) gelato.
What does my gut tell me right now? It tells me that 87 and 88 should be looking over their shoulders. I have a few reasons for making this guess.
1) They didn't kill both of the oat milk flavors or both of the cashew flavors, they killed one of each. Why complicate your manufacturer process to keep one of each? We've definitely seen plenty of brands give up on non-dairy offerings.
2) At Hannaford this morning, 85 and 88 were both strangely moved to the front of the cabinet. Neither said clearance, but it just gave off a weird vibe to me. To now see that 85 was cancelled seems like a strange coincidence at a minimum.
The website still shows the old 85-88 while also showing the new 85 and 86. The funny thing is that they recycled the page for Passionfruit, so it doesn't show up at the top when you tell the site to sort by new.
History stuff: This is not their first foray in to the world of hazelnuts. Chocolate Hazelnut, Hazelnut Chocolate Chip (#32), and Target exclusive Hazelnut have all existed before now.
So, are you excited for either of these?

ReplyDeleteHazelnut chocolate chip was one of my all time favorite grocery store pints. I hope the new hazelnut flavor is solid, even if it’s Nutella based more than anything.
