TCBY classic vanilla sandwiches
A Frozen Yogurt Treat Review

[New for 2012] I have an addiction that I haven't mentioned in awhile: I love ice cream sandwiches. I mean I LOVE a good old fashion ice cream sandwich. Even a half decent one always inspires me to eat a second one....
thing is

these do not inspire me to eat a second one

These are the new TCBY frozen yogurt classic vanilla sandwiches and they are terrible, like TERRIBLE terrible. (hold on, I need to go rinse my mouth out)

Ahhhh. I haven't been that thankful for a glass of water since... well since yesterday when I was mowing, but that's beside the point. I had super high hopes for these treats. Well, not super high, but even a freezer burned, entry level sandwich ain't that bad so I figured how could they possibly mess thess up?

Well, they could take your standard chocolate wafer and make it as hideously disgusting as possible, that's how. From the very first bite I realized something wasn't right. I figured I was being picky and decided to pushed on. I kept chomping along but some awful taste was building up. I was over half way through when I had an idea. I will simply eat off the chocolate wafer and verify that the bright white yogurt filling inside is causing the trouble.

Well, as I bit one piece of wafer and then another, I realized the terrible taste was coming from the wafers. There is no chocolate flavor to them, instead it's just, iunno, I can't even pretend to describe them. Cardboard would be high praise, as would dog food (ok, now I'm just getting mean).

The worst part is there seems to be no discernible vanilla flavor coming off the yogurt to help balance this "treat" out. I ate a wafer-less hunk of the yogurt and I got no flavor from it. None. I know I'm hard on treats but this is just down right hideous. Why even bother? Are people so bent on "7 types of probiotics" that they would choke this down for them?

Maybe the dragon can finish off the box for me.
Nope! He also said something about "Don't make me bite your ankle".

I haven't despised something this much in awhile. I'm half tempted to chuck them in the trash but I'm hoping I will calm down and find some way to enjoy the second scoop. For now, avoid these.

Verdict?  Horrendous
Buy Again?  Not in this lifetime

  1. Ah now I'm apprehensive on trying out their pints. Especially the ones with a vanilla base. Eh I'll just buy the blue bunny pints instead, problem solved=]

  2. So glad I passed these by in my local Walmart last week. The awful chocolate wafers sound like the same ones that Target use in their no sugar added ice cream sandwiches.

Don't be surprised if the dragon turns his nose up at these!

  3. Yikes! Usually the wafer cookie is the best part! Glad to know I didn't miss out on the goodness when I bypassed this treat...

  4. Out of curiosity, what do you do with your treats when they are this bad? I end up throwing mine out but always hate myself for being so wasteful!
