[New for Sept 2017] Did you know that Trader Joe's changed their "Hold the Cone" production company this summer? Instead of a 5.9oz 8-pack box coming from Germany, they are now a 7.9oz 8-pack coming from California. I didn't know until 30 seconds ago. I never got around to trying the old version, but when I saw these pop up on TIB today, I knew I should go shopping.

Despite almost getting killed three times on the way to Trader Joe's, I made it there and found their newest ice cream. They've taken their delightful sounding holiday Jingle Jangle and thrown it into ice cream.

[New for August 2016] The freezer aisle is pretty boring right now. Actually, it kind of maddeningly boring. That was a hard word to spell, but anyway. All the seasonal and limited stuff has been repeats this year and all the new stuff got dumped at the beginning of the year, so where does that leave me? Should I start hibernating during the second half of the year? Maybe I should just head to Trader Joe's since I haven't been there in awhile.

Trader Joe's Salted Caramel Gelato

[By Nick] After receiving multiple requests to review this gelato from Trader Joe's, I finally caved in and bought it. It takes a lot for me to buy a base only flavor as you all know. I love my mix-ins and feel there's only so much a base flavor can be on its own. That's said, I've had great luck with other similar base only gelatos from GS Gelato and The Fresh Market so it was only fair I gave Trader Joe's a shot as well.

Trader Joe's Speculoos Cookie Butter Ice Cream

[New for 2014] For those who don't know, my family is made up of cookie spread fans. We always have Biscoff cookies and Biscoff spread (with backups) in the cabinet. It has taken the place of peanut butter in our house and not more than a few days goes by before someone is enjoying a Biscoff filled sandwich (I always have mine with marshmallow fluff). I used it to spice up some boring cookie dough ice cream way back in 2011. I've even tried it on celery. It's just great stuff [Note: we don't do the Trader Joe's cookie butter because it's cross contaminated with nuts unfortunately].

So every so often I check on the Trader Joe's fearless flyer and see what's new at the store. There's usually something that catches my eye but I'm terrible about actually getting over there at lunch time. I mean I haven't been there since October! Well, I headed over today, but instead of grabbing the new "Hold the Cone!" mini ice cream cones, I picked up this old treat that somehow I've never noticed before.
