Our daughter surprised us with a pint of....

New City Microcreamery Cannoli Ice Cream
Cinnamon and Orange Ice Cream with Chocolate Covered Waffle Cones and Cannoli Cream Swirl

I like busy!
I go to sneak a bite and I got a quarter-sized chunk of cannoli shell. That is a fun way to start. I want to say that I'm getting a hint of cinnamon spice with my bite.

Oh yeah, cinnamon is definitely a factor here!
(it says chocolate covered but I taste cinnamon covered)
I was not expecting such big chunks of "shell". It's kind of hard (in a good way) to scoop around them. Instead, you have to scoop under them.
I dont know if my brain is thinking straight up cannoli, but I am very much enjoying this combo. It's one of those flavors you enjoy from the get go.
That said, I definitely wasn't expecting this much cinnamon. That last aftertaste was really spiked with it. On the flip side, I didn't notice the orange flavoring on it's own. I believe it's there enhancing the flavor, but at no point did I think about orange juice.
So, yeah, I'm really enjoying the complexity of this one. I'm very tempted to go inhale the rest of the pint, but I need to share this one.
On Second Scoop: I am having a lot of fun with the giant cannoli shell chunks. I know they say it's "waffle cone", but it sure tastes (and looks) like cannoli shell to me. Also, this may sound like blasphemy, but I do wish they were a bit smaller. They are fun in their big state, but if they were half the size, I would be enjoying them twice as often. Besides that, this is definitely a very cinnamon-y flavor, though it seems like a vast majority of that cinnamon comes from the cannoli chips. I've actually been mixing this with Turkey Hill all natural vanilla to both take the cinnamon down a notch but also to extend my enjoyment of this pint.
Verdict? very cinnamon-y but also fun
Buy Again? sure!
