Ben & Jerry's Salted Caramel Brownie Topped Ice Cream

[New for 2021] It's weird that I haven't reviewed a topped flavor in forever, but then I remembered that the new sundae flavors came out this year. Also, I do still pick up the strawberry topped tart now and again when I want something really sweet. Anyway, let's finally review...

Ben & Jerry's Salted Caramel Brownie Topped Ice Cream

The ice cream escaped a little bit....

Mmmmm, such tasty ganache.

It's tasty enough, if not, ya know, old fashion on these early bites. Say what you want about Talenti's layered flavors, at least I can get to all the layers pretty quickly. Here, I have the solid ganache preventing me from getting anywhere quick. 

I do see a few brownies, let's try to grab those...  that didnt go super well...  

When you put salted caramel in the name, I really would like to get to the salted caramel part in a reasonable amount of time. I think i'm getting a little bit of the saltiness, but the caramel is super muted, especially under the rich, flavorful ganache....  or maybe im just convincing myself that I taste a little bit of caramel. I'm not sure.

Ok, well that was something. I, like many others, am a stickler for accuracy. If it says salted caramel brownie, I want to taste salted caramel and brownies. That didn't happen today.

On Second Scoop: Still love the ganache, but everything else not so much. It's typical Ben & Jerry's quality, but there's just not enough going on here. It even seems like the brownies (which I can't really taste anyway) are fading away.

Final Scoop: I actually mixed the last bit of this with some Tillamook Apple Crisp ice cream. Surprisingly enough, it did make thinks more interesting.

Verdict?  should have been better (aka more caramel-y)
