Ben & Jerry's Marshmallow Sky Ice Cream

[New for Early 2024] I found the last of the new Ben & Jerry's flavors! Ok, technically I saw some of the renewed dairy-free options too today like Cherry Garcia, Peanut Butter Half Baked, and the Tonight Dough (which isn't updated on their website yet), but we'll get back to those later. For now, let's dive in to the blue goodness of.....

Ben & Jerry's Marshmallow Sky Ice Cream
Marshmallow Ice Cream with Marshmallow Swirls & Gobs of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough & Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

Ummmm, is that ice cream smiling at me?

Oh, it's definitely smiling at me!

Ok, technically there were some extra chunks in that scoop shoot before I ate them out so as not to distract from the happy ice cream face.

Anyway, this one is very easy to like. It's a fairly subtle marshmallow flavor, but that beats a fake marshmallow flavor any day. What it lacks in boldness, it makes up for with a fun pillow-y texture from all of the marshmallow swirls.

I don't know if every pint is going to be like this, or if maybe all the gooey sweetness made the cookie dough float to the top, but this one is fun. Because the base isn't bold, it really lets the two different cookie doughs do their thing. They aren't lost in the blue sea, they are making it better.

Seriously, this is a classic example of doing things well by not over doing them. Take it slow and let your taste buds enjoy the two kinds of cookie dough. I feel like sometimes companies try to spice things up with two different mix-ins that wind up lost in whatever base they are in.

Ok, I'm just repeating myself at this point. So, fun flavor, fun texture, can't wait to scoop more.

On Second Scoop: I have a feeling that at least a few naysayers will say that this one is just too subtle, but I think that lack of boldness is exactly what makes this one a winner. It tastes like marshmallow swirls with two distinctly different cookie dough bites in it. It sets out to do something you might think simple, but it does it well. And for the record, the swirls and cookie dough continue to be plentiful. If the bottom  gets boring, I'll let you know.

Verdict?  good!
