Mooyah Milkshakes!

Almost 4 years ago I tried a milkshake from MOOYAH while grabbing lunch with our ol' pal Nick. I told myself I would go back someday and see if their milkshakes were as impractically thick as they were the first time around. Well, me and the Mrs finally went back to try them again.

Strawberry shake in front, Oreo shake in the back

Four years later and the cups still aren't branded. They're loosing out on free social media advertising by doing that.... actually, can I share someting. We hit MOOYAH just before 6:30 on a Monday night and there was literally no one in the store besides the employees. Worst yet, the manager kept staring at his phone the entire time while taking my order. Dude, you represent the business, and I'm sure you are busy looking for your next gig, but maybe try a little bit harder and encourage me to come back.

Anyway, the shakes were certainly good enough, and because of the simplicity of pick up (versus the sadness of trying to get Baskin-Robbins milkshakes (see the story here)), I do suspect we'll be back again to try other flavors.

That said, I wasn't super impressed with this shake. Yes, I could get it up the straw this time, and the server did not skimp on the cookie crumbs, but we need to talk about the base ice cream. It's gotta be generic. It's got that weird not-coldness of a non-premium ice cream, while also having a bit of that cheap gumminess to it.

These weren't terrible, and it's way better than some junky fast food frozen dairy concoction from BK, McD's, etc, but I certainly won't crave these.

Final thought: I would recommend the large that's only like a dollar more (unless you are watching calories ofcourse).

On Second Sip: We passed by Mooyah again and while I went Oreo again, my wife tried the cookie dough shake. Unfortunately the cookie dough chunks don't really get broken up by the Razzle machine and so she wound up with a giant pile of cookie dough at the end of her milkshake. I don't think we'll be getting that flavor again!

Verdict?  not bad
Buy Again?  as needed

  1. Your experience pretty much sums up most customer service today. I very deliberately tried to stop defaulting to Amazon for everything I needed, but going into a store is just hell. Nobody cares, nobody helps you, and don’t even get me started on self checkouts. This place should be embracing the fact that, as of this writing, you cannot order a milkshake on Amazon. I hope someone in authority sees your review.
