Serendipity Forbidden Broadway Sundae Ice Cream
Serendipity Frrrozen Hot Chocolate Ice Cream

Alrightly, there are still a few Serendipity reviews sitting in the review that I should really clear out before the new 2020 stuff starts showing up on store shelves. Please remember that these were free samples so take my brief review as you so choose.

Serendipity Forbidden Broadway Sundae Ice Cream
chocolate flavored ice cream with brownie pieces and fudge swirls

Serendipity Frrrozen Hot Chocolate Ice Cream
hot chocolate flavored ice cream with whipped cream, swirl and chocolate shavings

They both look good right?

I try hot chocolate first and I cant tell if it's freezerburn or has an intentionally weird texture. I like the little chocolate chips as a funfactor, but the grit is confusing this initial serving. whoops.

Forbidden Sundae time and I'm not sure I love this flavor either. If I had to pick a fun factor, I would say its the brownies ofcourse. They are good, but there is weirdness from the chocolate that is coming from either the base or the swirl (or maybe both).

On Second Scoop: I think hot chocolate is annoying me more and broadway is growing on me, though both are flawed. I have fallen in to bigger puddles of marshmallow which helps hot chocolate, but overall there is something flawed about it (though maybe it's just a bad case of freezerburn?). On the other hand, the fudge puddles of broadway arent great, but the brownies try to keep things together pretty well. In other words, I keep digging for brownie bits. If you get a scoop of everything, broadway just works.

Verdict?  maybe a bum sample
Buy Again?  probably not

Super disappointed in Frrrozen Hot Chocolate! The drink at Serendipity is delish but the texture of this ice cream is incredibly off-putting. Weird, sorta softly gritty. I would not buy this again if this is the true texture and not a bad batch.

At least I wasn't the only one to get a pint with weird texture?
