Edy's Rolo Ice Cream

[New for 2016] Along with the several new slow churned state flavors popping up, Edy's is giving us at least six new candy based grand flavors. My big question is: what took so long? Places like Canada have been rocking flavors like rolo, smarties, turtles and kit kat forever now, so why are we behind? That does not make sense! Let's see if Edy's can finally fix this oversight!

The base vanilla isn't terribly exciting, so don't aim for that first. Let's aim for the caramel swirl instead.... whoa, that's oddly potent. I assume they are going for rolo style caramel but it comes across weird. (doubly weird: there is baking soda in the swirl)

I've now spilled my ice cream three times. Apparently I need more rest....

Mini Rolos! Though they aren't that awesome in semi frozen form. If you remember, DQ used the same mini Rolos in a blizzard last summer. Yeah, I liked the blizzard more.

I can't help but shake the feeling that Edy's has messed with their formulas yet again, and not in a positive way. That odd solid-ness I noticed in their new slow-churned stuff is here as well, just not as pronounced. Oh Edy's, what have you done?

On Second Scoop: So the chewy little rolos are fairly plentiful, but overall this one is still pretty tame. There's just no wow factor. I want to love this, I really do, but I just want to go meh. Actually, no, specially I want to dump a bunch of extra caramel on it (and probably some whipped cream) and then I would be more amused. Try if you want, but keep your expectations in check (and let us know what you think if you do!)
