Oreo Premium Ice Cream Cake
A Celebration Foods Dessert Review

[New for 2010] Celebrate good treats, come on, do do do do, it's a celebration! oh boy! the excitement! Sure, my first run in with Celebration Foods wasn't exactly an inspirational success, but tell me, how am I, a lover of cookies n' cream ice cream, suppose to walk by this box over and over again and not grab it?

Mmmmmm, oh that looks so tasty. I love the huge Oreo in the middle, it's a unique touch (though it will make it hard if you are trying to write on the cake). This premium ice cream cake clocks in at 48 fluid ounces and says it serves up to twelve.

At first, it does seem kinda small, how can this possible serve twelve, but once you start cutting, the cake definitely seems to be bigger than it appears. Maybe this will be enough for12 after all?

So it's a nice tasting cookies and cream ice cream with varying sizes of chunks (you can see them scattered everywhere). The bright white frosting is thin and light (surprisingly enough) and there are cookie crumbs covering the sides. Now there is one feature that will win over the kids on this one, that giant soft Oreo cookie wafer in the middle. You can't beat hearing "I got part of the big cookie!"

I like this cake, plain and simple. It looks good, it tastes good, and several people wanted a second slice. I just don't have any complaints.

On Second Scoop: I snagged a few more bites of the cake when I went to take the side view image and I must admit that this cake really is well done. There is an undeniable Oreo cookie taste to this thing. It's not just cookies n' cream, it's OREO cookies n' creme and it really tastes good. Nice job Celebration Foods.

2012 Update: It's been awhile since we've had this tasty cake so we decided to pick up another. Everything seems the same except now there's a new EASY OPEN slide & serve feature.

Guess what? it works! It slid right out!
Also notice that the cover has an Oreo dunking in milk now.

Verdict? Tasty
Buy Again? Yup
