New Product Line: Even though it's a bit far to go, it's always fun going to a big Whole Foods grocery store and checking out the all natural ice cream freezer section. We were checking out the usual suspects when something new caught my eye.
Living Harvest makes frozen desserts as well. I was tempted to buy it but wasn't sure it would make it home, maybe next time!
Other News: Tip Top Ice Cream (out of New Zealand) says they have perfected how to wrap ice cream in marshmallow! Their first attempt was some nine years ago, but they have announced the first commercially viable treat will go on sale soon. The new rocky road inspired treat will be part of their Memphis Meltdown product line -- be sure to check out the link, their stuff looks awesome!
Poll Results: I keep forgetting to post the old poll results so that we can have a new poll.
What's your least favorite thing to put in the freezer?
Anything Artificial 77 (43%)
Tart Frozen Yogurt 32 (17%)
Any Frozen Yogurt 15 (8%)
Nonfat Ice Cream 34 (18%)
Lowfat Ice Cream 2 (1%)
Mini Containers 10 (6%)
Single Serve Treats 9 (5%)
Votes total: 179
My first thought was "Wow, people feel pretty strongly about artificial junk in their treats", but then I realized something. If you total all the non-ice cream products, you get 46% of the vote. Is that a hint to keep froyo and lowfat talk to a minimum? No worries, this is the ice cream blog, all are welcome, though some may be ignored (cough)Edy's(cough).
Ok, one more note: Speaking of Edy's (Dreyer's), I passed by their new limited edition Toy Story Lemonade Swirl Ice Cream the other day. It's lemon sorbet and vanilla "frozen dairy product" (It's yet another skim milk fun flavor). If you try it, let us know.
