Arethusa Farm Raspberry Ice Cream

To be honest, I can't remember where I first saw Arethusa Farm pints. I saw them at Big Y a few years ago, but I know I saw them before that at Whole Foods or Stop & Shop (or maybe both). They don't have a million flavors, but I'm always tempted to try another brand. So, let's crack open a pint of...

Arethusa Farm Old-Fashioned Raspberry Ice Cream

Well that's fun! It looks like a strawberry flavor.

I take a few bites and it's way more cheesy then expected. It's actually super distracting.

It's a smidge freezer burn, but that's fine.

It's pretty dense, but that's fine.

It's the cheese vibe though. I'm just not in the mood for it.

I wound up doing a 50/50 split between this and some Alden's vanilla ice cream. Unfortunately, Alden's is pretty gummy and that didn't help things here.

Ok, let me try again tomorrow...

On Second Scoop: I've tried this one a few times now and I just dont like it. That uber cream (cheezy) vibe just throws me off. I keep waiting to be in the mood for it but it just doesnt happen. I will try another flavor at some point (maybe someone can make a good recommendation).

  1. Turn it into a shake and add some chocolate chips to offset the cheesiness. I turn all things I'm not wild about into a shake.

    1. I've been defaulting more to mixing ice creams rather than going to a straight milkshake these days, but I definitely might have to milkshake this one.
