Ice Cream For Bears - Churro y Burrow

[New for 2025] I stumbled on the Ice Cream for Bears website several months ago (I think I was checking ice cream news at the time). The holiday season made me forget about it, but while visiting the new Big Y grocery store, what do I see but an entire shelf of ice cream for bears (faux) pints. Seven of their eleven flavors. Regularly $7.99 but on sale $6.49. Oh geez, where to start? I think I'll grab...

Ice Cream for Bears - Churro y Burrow
cinnamon French ice cream

[You aren't shocked I picked the cinnamon one]

So the big deal is that they add honey. According to their website, they add the honey to the cool mix after the pasteurization process so that the honey remains raw and unfiltered.

Note: you probably noticed it says French ice cream, so yeah, eggs are in the mix in lieu of gums.

WOW! Check out all the cinnamon!

I take my first bite and it's.... dry? foamy? weird? Does it need to temper more?

I regret going with the cinnamon one first. I'm not ready for how this one rolls, and the cinnamon overload isnt helping. That's on me. (Ha! I didnt say roll on purpose)

I'm getting hung up on the fact that I feel like I'm eating a styrofoam peanut.

Back in the freezer... I feel like I just finished licking the insides of a cinnamon role.

Maybe the second scoop will be less startling.

On Second Scoop: such a weird texture. this one will probably go in to the trash if I cant force myself to make a milkshake. we'll see.

Verdict?  so weird
Buy Again?  nope

  1. Thats a shame. Ive never heard of this brand, butI like the graphics and the slogan on the inside of the lid. This had the potential to be a memorable product. If, you know, that product was good.

    1. I'm hoping someone chimes in and says some of their other flavors are better (though I unfortunately only got 3 negative feedbacks on instagram)

    2. I think I commented here or on instagram. I tried the pumpkin one and didn’t care for it. Weird texture. Not sweet at all, and extremely heavy handed on the spices. One and done for me @ $8.

  2. Bummer. I love honey, and it seems to be having a moment. I’m hoping to pick up the blue bell honey vanilla. What’s next?! Hot honey ice cream???
