Haagen-Dazs Dark Cherry Truffle Ice Cream

Ok, cherry ice cream tastes as you'd expect... just got a little truffle... ok, i see swirls...

Not super busy yet, but I like what's going on so far.

I like when cherry ice cream reminds me of old school cherry coke. It happens when it's dialed in a certain way, and I did grow up on cherry coke.

I'd say the truffles are the texture and flavoring you'd expect from a Haagen-Dazs truffle. Quality mix-in, not too solid or too soft. You've had them before, but I do feel like there should be more of them. Maybe they are hiding.

I'm struggling to resist the urge to just start shoveling this whole thing into my face so that I can find more truffles...

Just had a bunch of swirl. I thought it would pop more. It's not tart or potent or anything like that. My brain envisioned (hoped for) a sugary blast that never materialized.

So, I like cherry ice creams and I like this take on it. That said, I expected more from HD. I feel like I hit truffles way more often in my beloved white chocolate raspberry truffle flavor. Granted, it could be a bum pint, but I feel like HD is pretty consistent in general.

Again, this is a good cherry ice cream, I just expected more mix-ins.

I'm putting this one away for now, though I would happily eat more.

On Second Scoop: On the one hand, this is a very solid cherry ice cream, but on the other hand, it's still surprisingly light on the truffles. It does appear that they'll be some more in my final serving tomorrow (as it appears some sank or just wound up on the bottom), but the second serving didn't have a ton of them. This has got to be a fluke (faux) pint, right? [there were definitely more truffles in the final serving, but not like a crazy amount more]
