Top Ten New Reviews of 2025

The most popular page on the blog this year (besides the search page), was the January announcement about all the 2025 Ben & Jerry's stuff that was coming out. There's also a surprising amount of hits on old posts. There are always some, but with the new stuff getting less hits, it means the older stuff shows up on all the reports. Overall traffic is down ofcourse (like it is every year). Alright, let's start the countdown!

#10: DQ Caramel Toffee Cookie Blizzard. Coming in at #10 (and technically #11 with the Superman blizzard), it's good to see DQ sneak on the list.

#9: Fat Boy Churro Ice Cream Sandwich. I did wind up buying another box of these.

#8: Fat Boy Birthday Cake Ice Cream Pop. Not the most beautiful thing, but they are fun.

#7: Tillamook Salty Caramel Pretzel Ice Cream. I do buy a lot of Tillamook these days, so good to see one of theirs on the list.

#6: Eggo Buttery Maple Ice Cream Sandwiches. The only breakfast inspired flavor to make it to the top ten. That's kind of sad, and by kind of, I mean a lot. Maybe they should have made these better.

#5: Ben & Jerry's Cookie Vermon-ster Sundae. I only covered 2 of the 4 Sundae flavors unfortunately.

#4: Wendy's Caramel Crunch Frosty Fusion. This reminded me that I forgot to try the snickerdoodle frosty! We stopped by a Wendy's yesterday to correct this, but they told me it was "too cold" for the machine to work right now (it was mid-20s yesterday here in Mass).

#3: Ben & Jerry's Fudgy Flan Ice Cream. This one was hit or miss in terms of production. The pints I got were all different, and everyone was having different experiences. Not sure why.

#2: Van Leeuwen Ice Cream Cake Ice Cream. If your gonna land on the list, land near the top!

These first 9 were all fairly close in view count, but the winner was far ahead of the rest. Let me proudly introduce my favorite new flavor of the year!

#1: Haagen-Dazs Salted Brown Butter Cookie Ice Cream - you know I love this one. I'm glad it's #1.

So no review showings by Talenti, Friendly's, Turkey Hill, or the cereal ice creams (though technically the page about the Kellogg's cereal flavors got some traction). Granted, my current way of covering things isn't fantastic, so I might be partially to blame.... though, honestly, I feel like the ice cream aisle has just gotten super weird these days. I thought 2025 would be a renewal for the old days, but in the end, it was just more modern day nonsense. Oh well.

So, let me know what you think of this or share your hopes for 2026. You may have already seen Ben & Jerry's trying ice cream bars again or maybe you heard that Wells (Blue Bunny) is giving us Kinder and Nutella ice cream treats (these should already be headed to convenience stores). I guess that's one benefit of being owned by Ferrero!

  2. Happy New Year! I've been following since the beginning and I appreciate all your work with the blog. I long for the days Edys had delicious ice cream and Turkey Hill didnt use almost exclusively frozen dairy dessert. I want them all to go back to their real ice cream roots. Even if the price went up, I'd buy!

    1. Well some retailers like Kroger are offering custard like Gilles. Supermarkets are selling pints that are typically sold in small restaurants or stores now making it more mainstream. It reminds me of the real life cream I enjoyed as a kid. I just want to see more flavors than chocolate or vanilla. Luke more mix ins…cookies n cream (classic)….candy bar mix ins like butterfinger etc

  5. Happy New Year Dubba and Fellow Readers,

Unfortunately, I am not very hopeful for 2026 "general" retail like B&J, Talenti, HD. Doesn't seem like a lot is going on with their core lines where you could bank on some solid new releases and the occasional limited item that was a real hit. To that point I anticipate less of those purchases and more local places which isn't a bad thing. I still have faith in the Jeni's, McConnell's and Graeter's of the world. Lastly, I expect Blue Bell to continue with fun and solid (if not spectacular) flavors so I will continue to check for them.

  6. I search your old reviews a lot because I forget how a pint tasted and if it was worth a repurchase. And between layers and the sundae series, I’m sick of new offerings just being less ice cream

    1. Cool, I'm glad the blog can help.

I dont do it a ton, but I do try to sometimes update pictures or grab fresh pints of flavors that are still in production.
