Serendipity Birthday Cake Ice Cream

[New for 2019, still available early 2024] Another free sample to review, and heads up, it's good!

Serendipity Birthday Cake Ice Cream
cake flavored ice cream with swirls of pink frosting,
cake pieces and sprinkles

The sprinkles look great (but the swirl is a little creepy)

Swirl looks better, and now we can see the cake pieces too.

This one feels like an easy win for them. With a name like serendipity, I expected a fun flavor like this. It's got good cake flavoring without being too overbearing or fake. There's also lots of sprinkles which always amuses me. A few more cake bites wouldn't hurt, but they are enjoyable and add to the experience.

Nice job. If you like cake flavors, you should like this one.

On Second Scoop: I like this one more every time I try it. I will admit to cheating and adding a bit of vanilla ice cream so that it's more my speed, but this is well done.

Verdict?  good!
Buy Again?  sure

  1. To my knowledge (which I admit is lacking compared to your ice cream expertise lol) there aren't a lot of ice creams with cake pieces in them, are there?

It's too bad because I love cake + ice cream. When you put a scoop of ice cream on top of a piece of cake and they both kinda melt together? The best. I've been wanting a cookies and creme flavor but with chocolate cake crumbles instead of cookie crumbles forever!

  2. I feel like most brands have some kind of cake flavor. If you are lucky, they'll have both a vanilla and chocolate cake version.

I don't have a cake bit tag, but this will narrow it down

  3. When a swirl can be described as "creepy" and your prior Biscoff post as "foamy," then all I can say is marvelous. I applaud such distinctive commentary on the cold creamery business. Your words are like little colored sprinkles that I enjoy coming across when reading your reviews. :)

  4. I'm OBSESSED with this flavor. I've bought them so much that they're now sold out at my local 711 and they're sold out on gopuff.. oops.. now I've gotta take a further trip to my local Walgreens!

  5. BY FAR this is my favorite ice cream in the entire aisle. The precise reason is the high quality ribbon-frosting combined with actual pieces of cake inside of the ice cream. The quality of each ingredient is also high quality which is why this is so expensive and, even when it goes on sale, it does not drop much in price. I pay $5.69 at Stop and Shop in Brooklyn, NY. And yes, it is absolutely worth every single penny of that. A delicious experience on a gourmet level.

  6. I just tried this 3 days ago and I've had it everyday since! Addicted, love! The flavors are so good. I wanted to save half of my pint size carton but couldn't put it down. A must try if you like birthday cake flavor.
