Yuengling's Butter Pecan Ice Cream

[New for 2016] This is the last of the four new Yuengling's flavors that debuted for 2016. I don't know why it took so long to pop up in my area, and yes this is something Nick usually reviews, but I'm hungry and it's either this or Gifford's Power Play Fudge ice cream (announcement here).

Always good to see the pecan pieces popping out of the top.

I dig in and realize it's not really what I was in the mood for. Yuengling's does a nice job of presenting flavors as they are classically intended and they've done that here with a somewhat buttery/eggy base and a good amount of small, soft pecan pieces. Maybe I should say surprisingly soft pecan pieces and the base almost reminds me of a custard. Another positive is that it's not too salty or too buttery. If you like the way Yuengling's presents flavors, then you should be used to their m.o. now and this continues that.

The problem for me is that I was a huge fan of B&J's pecan sticky bun flavor and I don't know how to transition from that to this. Nick respects a good butter pecan flavor but I need a fun factor on something like this. So I guess this is a fine flavor that is presented in it's traditional form. We'll see how quickly I make it disappear from the freezer.

On Second Scoop: I don't know why, but all I taste is celery.

Verdict?  traditional... I think
Buy Again?  not for me
