Wegmans White Chocolate Raspberry Ice Cream

It's time to dig in to a limited edition flavor that has been staring at me for months. How many months? I'm not really sure anymore, but it taunts me so and it's time to finally give in and try...

Wegmans White Chocolate Raspberry Ice Cream
White Chocolate Flavored Ice Cream
with Red Raspberry Swirls & Fudge Hearts

There's a couple of fudge filled hearts just waiting to be eaten.

The funny thing about this ice cream is that it tastes exactly like you'd expect it to. The raspberry swirl stands out as expected. It's fairly bold but not overpowering or tart. You won't miss it, but at the same time it's what you would expect.

The base is similar to other sweet "white chocolate" bases you've had before. I'm not sure I had a bite that was straight white chocolate, though there are definitely bites that are light on raspberry. The base is also not too dense and it's fairly creamy.

If a heart hits you right, you get a nice fudgy blast. There is no hollow thud to these, but they aren't super solid or crispy either. It's just a good mid range texture to them, much like say the chocolate inside of an M&M. The fudge lingers well on the taste buds. They are also plentiful as I seem to get one (or occasionally two) in the majority of bites.

I've enjoyed my first serving and am still in... well, not shock, but amused by the fact that it tastes the way it does. I want to say this is too mild or that's too something, but everything has lined up as expected.

On Second Scoop: Just realized that this is very much like a mainstream (aka lighter) version of Save our Swirled. Since we don't know if that flavor is ever coming back, this will do when the mood hits. It's a fine flavor, no complaints. Again, I don't have much to say.

Verdict?  delivers on the name
Buy Again?  sure

  3. You need to try 'scrapin up the boardwalk 'by Wegmans....

  4. not sure if you mean "scrapin' the bowl" or "under the boardwalk" but I'm sure both are good. I've had their excellent premium cookie dough flavor so I assume scrapin' is similarly enjoyable.
