Nosh or Not: Hudsonville Dirt Cake

[New for 2026] I adore texture in my ice cream, I love trying new things, and it's got a fair price, but I just couldn't bring myself to try....

Hudsonville Dirt Cake Ice Cream
gummi worms and cream-filled chocolate cookies blended into vanilla and chocolate pudding flavored ice cream

This one has been out since the beginning of the year, so hopefully a couple of you have tried it and can let us know if the Albanese "Gummies Stay Chewy!"

If you've ever had gummies in ice cream, feel free to share that too. I think gummies can be a sundae topping, but I've never tried that either.

  1. I've never tried this flavor, but if I had access I would NOSH! Back in the day I worked at Dairy Queen, and my co workers got me into gummi bears in Blizzards. Delicious!

  3. My confusion is the "chocolate pudding flavor." I wonder how they distinguish it from just regular chocolate, or if it's actually just plain chocolate but had to add pudding on the text for marketing reasons, since it's not dirt cake without pudding.

    1. it should definitely taste different, though I cant say how exactly without trying it next to their regular chocolate (which technically I do have in my freezer).... and now I want a scoop of Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Therapy

  4. I do not like gummy anything in my ice cream. When my kids were little, they INSISTED on putting large numbers of gummy words and big gummy frogs into their froyo and gelato at Sweet frog. With their eyes always being bigger than their stomachs, they never could finish. They never left me a single reeses pieces or M&M but left plenty of rock hard gummies behind. The ice cream just freezes the gummy. I don't like it, and while I would try this ice cream if asked to sample it for FREE, I would not buy it myself.

  5. Oh I forgot to add that I do love Albanese gummies the best. An old boyfriend was loyal to only Haribo. I find them to be much more chewy. I like the softer albanese gummies better....the tropical ones are really good actually. I still have reservations about eating them in ice cream after my previous experience. Maybe being the softer albanese type might make a difference, but I doubt it. Perhaps if the ice cream tempers more...?
