7-Eleven Chocolate Turtle Cheesecake Ice Cream

[New for 2019] There are four new flavors of 7-Eleven ice cream, though if you are like me, you'll probably have trouble tracking them all down. This is the first one I found.

7-Eleven Chocolate Turtle Cheesecake Ice Cream
Chocolate cheesecake ice cream with sea salt caramel,
graham swirls, and roasted pecans

Ouch, rough start. Granted I expected it based on the amount of frost in the 7-Eleven freezer, but it still scares me a little. I dig in and thankfully it looks worse then it actually is.

Big thoughts in order:

  Where is the cheesecake flavor?

Graham is in clumps, not swirls. It's fine, but not really fun to eat by itself.

Where is the caramel? I'm guessing it's blended completely in to the base.

The tiny pecan bits didn't last long, the few I found were only near the top.

All that said, I was still starved and so I devoured half the pint with ease. It's still an enjoyable flavor despite my "big thoughts". The base texture is good, not too dense but definitely not too light. I think the caramel blends in (and disappears) to make the chocolate base more enjoyable, but where is the cheesecake flavoring? You can't say you'll do something and then not do it. People get mad over that stuff ya know!

I guess we'll see what tomorrow brings.

On Second Scoop: Hey, I found the caramel! Yup, it was sitting at the very bottom of the pint, all tiny... great, it was so small I don't even know what to call it. Puddle would be over exaggerating. Anyway, the caramel was pretty tasty but there should have been about 20x more of it me thinks. I also found one whole pecan! Not like a huge pecan, but a pecan none the less. So yeah, serious quality control issues on this one, but honestly, I still enjoyed it. I can't help it. The overall blend was still fun. I can only imagine how tasty this would be if my pint actually had everything straightened out.

Verdict?  quality control issues
Buy Again?  probably!

  1. This was the best ice cream I have ever had. It was hard to get any, as it was usually sold out. It is no where to be found now. I wish they would bring it back. It was really good.
