Gelato Updates for 2019

First, the good news. Our old pal Nick is responsible for three of the new flavors coming out of Gelato Fiasco! How's that for awesome. The flavors have been popping up on instagram.

And now the bad news. Talenti has announced their 2019 lineup.... and it's BORING. Oh boy, 4 organic flavors and another (potentially GI troubling) less sugar flavor. Be still my beating heart.

Lemon Bar is the new less sugar flavor, and the organic ones are brown butter caramel, chocolate mousse, ginger matcha, and oak-aged vanilla. Look, I love classic flavors, but really? That's the best you can do? I guess ginger match is out there for them, but at least throw us one crazy flavor. Since Talenti likes to stick to 40 flavors, that means we lose chocolate chip, simply strawberry, chocolate sorbetto, cinnamon peach biscuit, and chocolate caramel blondie. (I spied toasted almond as limited last year but it's not on this year's or last year's flavor list). The funny thing is that I've seen stores clearancing Talenti flavors besides these five. In particular, almost every store I've seen has wiped out the less sugar vanilla cinnamon flavor.

Update: I saw tags put out for the new Talenti Layers lineup. There seem to be four flavors and each flavor has 5 layers. We should be seeing them soon!

March Update: People have started spying these flavors and there are in fact seven of them in all!

Technically Dove has released some new salted caramel, chocolate dipped Gelato bars as well. I have no idea why because their lineup is so small, you wouldn't think there would be room for this random treat. Ok, that's all I got for now!

Friendly's Strawberry Cheesecake Cake Singles

[New for 2019] Of the four "new" Friendly's cake singles, this is the only one that's truly a fresh flavor that's not a rehash of an earlier sundae to go flavor. No cheesecake isn't at the top of my priority list, but I do adore graham!

Friendly's Chocolate Krunch Cake Singles

[New for early 2019] Guess what? Friendly's has themselves a pretty clever idea here because there are people out there, like me, who adore ice cream cake but can't really justify buying an entire cake to eat by themselves. So, how did they solve this problem?

My first find of 2019 is...

...in the downstairs freezer. It's a set of three actually (out of at least four known flavors). Unfortunately 9:30 at night is not the best time for me to dive in to a 600 calorie treat (though don't be surprised if I try one of the three for breakfast). Should I give a hint? Hmmmm...

You are on the hunt for new stuff right? I'm currently scouring Stop & Shop (Giant), Hannaford (Food Lion), Market32 (Price Chopper), Wegmans, Shaws, Roche Bros, Walmart & Target.

Fellow freezer stalker @candyhunting has already found a ton of new Blue Bunny stuff at Hy-vee. We're talking 8 new Load'd Sundaes, 4 new mini swirls, and two new bunny snacks!

Fellow ice cream enthusiast @familyfooddude posted two new Ben & Jerry's pint slices (he and a least a few others got early review samples)

Coolhaus is teasing four new dairy-free pints and sammies and one new dairy flavor and who knows what else is in store from them. I actually found two of their older flavors in their newer packaging today, though I never did see their seasonal stuff in my area.

The Haagen-Dazs Spirits line is coming to the U.S., but what else will we get?

The Turkey Hill limited edition calendar has nothing new on it  :(

Update #1: The impulsive buy is posting pictures of several new Chilly Cow options.

Update #2: Ben & Jerry's is reinvigorating the Core lineup with three new Cookie Dough Core flavors! Their is sugar cookie dough core, a chocolate chip cookie dough core, and a "no bake" (chocolate looking) cookie dough core.
