Cold Stone Creamery Cake Batter Batter Batter Ice Cream
cake batter ice cream with cookie dough and brownie pieces
Is that shrinkage from sitting so long maybe?
Better remove the top layer so it doesn't mess with our taste test.
Well I see lots of brownie bits now....
Going to cheat and start with a scoopful of brownie bits.... You know, I love when my ice cream has a nice foamy consistency.... You definitely pick up the cake batter flavor to the base ice cream and I am reminded of some of the Cold Stone cupcakes my wife has brought home over the years.
You know, I cant really taste the cookie dough over the cake batter. I think I can a little, but just kind of underneath the cake batter. The brownies definitely stand out more, though sometimes I get more than one of my spoon. At least both have a nice consistency, not too dry, or gritty, or oily.
Maybe we should check in with my daughter.... "It's almost slimy". Yeah, that pretty much says it all. It's not a terrible flavor, but the texture is really on the weird side. Yes, there is a fair amount of flavor here, and I'm guessing that pop of cake flavor is kind of messing with our taste buds, but I can't imagine shelling out seven or eight bucks for another quart of this stuff.
On Second Scoop: Ok, I'm back and while this stuff isn't horrible or anything, I still place it firmly in the weird category. If you are a hard core fan of things that taste like cake batter (not just cake flavor), then I think you'd be ok with this if you don't mind paying extra for the CSC branding. For me personally though, part of the problem is that their is like a cake batter tingle going on. You might think me crazy, but it's a thing, a least for my taste buds. Now I did eat it right out of the freezer rather than waiting several minutes for pictures, so that did help the texture issues somewhat but overall I am still unamused. The only difference now is that I think I might be willing to try one of the other flavors rather than just writing this lineup off all together.
Verdict? don't let it warm up
