Haagen-Dazs Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream

The great thing about  companies expanding their lines of single serve ice creams means it that much easier to sneak in a quick, cheap review.... and keep the calorie and fat intake a bit lower which is important when we are talking 45% of your saturated fat in one serving.

Nothing overly complicated here, just chocolate ice cream and a peanut butter swirl.

Hmmm, kind of reminds me of Turkey Hill's Chocolate Peanut Butter

Ok, this one is pretty straight forward. It's the usual H-D chocolate base with a quality peanut butter swirl. Thing is, it's an amazingly hard swirl. I didn't bother messing with the poorly engineering spoon they include, instead I used my own spoon and still I couldn't break the peanut butter as I dug in. When I tried, the whole swirl would come up in one massive bite. Sure, I could have put it down on a table and put my whole weight behind breaking it up, but to me, these cups are meant for sitting back and relaxing. I guess that's my only complaint. It's a fine swirl, not to salty, quality ingredients, it's just really hard!

Overall opinion: it's a fine, quality product, enjoyable, no real wow factor... and unhealthy enough to make me think I shouldn't buy it again.

  1. This is actually one of my favorite ice cream flavors. In regards to the hard peanut butter swirl, it softens up if you leave the ice cream out for a minute or two. In the freezer, it freezes fairly solid. When you get this ice cream at the right temperature/consistency, it is a little bit too delicious.
