Fat Boy Birthday Cake Ice Cream Sandwich Pop

[New for Early 2025] Oh man, I've wanted to try these since I first saw them.... and now they are going in my belly!

Fat Boy Birthday Cake Ice Cream Sandwich Pop
a birthday cake ice cream sandwich dipped in white frosting then topped with party sprinkles

I am so excited!
(Ha! Nutrition info on the back of the wrapper!)

Let me just pull this out of the wrap.... NOOOOOOOOOOO! I just dropped it on the ground! Why is the stick so short for such a heavy treat?!

and wait, that doesn't look like the picture....

Let me grab a fresh bar...

Wait, this one is even more poorly made!
Laughably poor quality control here.

Ok nothing left to do but bite in to it. Here we go....

....oh man, yeah, that's tasty! Nice solid ice cream, nice soft wafers, plenty of sweetness coming from the coating, and then the parts with sprinkles have some added texture.

Sorry, I should have tried to pay more attention to the specific flavor. I know it looks like strawberry, but it's not strawberry.

Ok, one final complaint. It wasn't filling enough. It was very tasty, and I inhaled it, but I was definitely left wanting more. I mean, that's technically a good thing, but at the same time, I'm still hungry!

So, despite the poor construction and the sprinkles that are scattered everywhere, it's still a very tasty sandwich. $7 a box might seem a bit much for something that needs to be a bit better built, but I think I would still buy another box. It'lll just be more of a special treat rather than a regular treat maybe.

On Second Scoop: Well, this bar had even less sprinkles (meaning less crunch) than the other two, but yeah, this pop is very tasty. I don't know if it tastes so much like birthday cake so much as it just tastes really sweet though. The sweet coating plus the sweetness of the wafers is great and all, but I just cant properly describe the flavor. It's good. That's all you need to know really. As long as you don't mind really sweet things, give these a try!

Verdict?  very tasty
Buy Again?  sure!

  1. According to the Fat Boy website, this bar is made with their Sugar Cookie ice cream sandwich, so the flavor it’s sugar cookie-flavored ice cream. Hope that helps! Please keep up the great reviews. Thanks!

    1. That would make total sense! It totally has a sugar cookie ice cream vibe to it.

If you can, let us know where on the site you saw that. Thanks!

    2. Sure! These "sandwich pops" are made by their dipping their lineup of ice cream sandwiches into flavored coatings with toppings. You can see the ice cream sandwich on its own on their website at https://fatboyicecream.com/fatboy-sugar-cookie-sandwich/

    3. Ooooo, ok, gotchya. I thought they said it out right, but you just put the pieces together. Good detective work!

  2. The image on the box looks like a party! The pics of the actual sandwich pop look like a hangover lol. But glad to hear it's still tasty!

  3. The ones I got were horrifically put together too! Fell apart so I had to eat them in a bowl. Plus, on some the sprinkles were laid on so thick I couldn't bite thru without squishing out the ice cream (and busting my teeth). And yet it was a pretty delicious mess... glad I didn't pay full price for the trouble, but I do prefer this problem to, say... the torture that is Talenti's lids.

  4. I don't usually buy novelties, but Fatboy is usually worth buying. I noticed Shoprite also has Mint Chocolate Chip as a new flavor which could be tasty. When they go on sale, I may buy.

  5. I rarely opt for novelties but this one looks very appealing. Even if the amount of sprinkles looks nothing like the picture.

Sorry you dropped a bar. That is distressing.

  6. i cant wait to try these! Not sure why but the older I get the more novelty ice cream bars are appealing to me. For 20 years I would only consider pints. Now Im into all the sandwiches and things on sticks. I do wish they would make it look like the picture. Or at least let the picture reflect the reality.

    1. Same here, I'm 67. For the longest time, I had simple, conventional ice creams. Maybe add chocolate sauce and whipped cream, and that was fine. Now, ice cream sandwiches, cones etc.....then I came across Fat Boy sandwiches, and wow. Great ice cream. Recently, the brownie hot fudge is my favorite, but I've tried some of the newest stuff, all great. I also indulge in kids cereals, like Lucky Charms and Reese's puffs. We don't live forever, so enjoying things from our younger days makes lots of sense. Enjoy my fry !!!!

  7. This treat was ABSOLUTELY UNEQUIVOCALLY AWESOME. The flavor, I just can't get enough of. I do have a few issues with them, though. Not offend anyone, but they are too small. Wally world near me sells them for $4.97 a box, while Food Lion near me sells them for $5.49 a box. You only get 4 SMALL ICE CREAM Sandwich pops on a stick. If you take 2 pops, they are ALMOST equivalent to the size of a regular sized popsicle or typical ice cream truck ice cream bar. So, we're looking at $2.50 per bar or per two ice cream pops. They are getting over on us. And, that's what I'm not a fan of. My next issue is the UNEVENLY distributed amount of white chocolate which causes them to crack as you bite into the ice cream pop. Ice cream then squeezes out and you need a bowl. Or, you have to gobble down the treat to keep from losing it to the floor. Next, is the cookie wafers that aren't aligned properly from corner to corner. That doesn't look appealing. And, last, when I saw the UNEVEN amount of sprinkle or non-pareil distribution above, I was bothered because we pay for which we see. Any subtraction of any ingredients means that we've been cheated out of it without a reduction in price. That is a rip off and is a form of stealing and somewhat false advertisement. It may not look EXACTLY like the box, but it should be somewhat close REGARDLESS of a disclaimer that I am starting to see on some labels, products may vary in amount and size, etc. Give us what we paid for without ripping us off in anyway. We're not peasants and deserve to get what we pay for WITHOUT the expectation that we'll just accept anything. I'm a different type of consumer. The taste ALONE isn't enough. Appearance does matter, no matter how it looks once it all goes down the same pipe. I will simply stop buying them and keep my money, just like a plethora of my church members who refuse to them after being shorted the rainbow sprinkles or non-pareils. I'm just one person and you may feel like that doesn't matter, but it does if you're in business to make money. Money loss is never good. That's the purpose of being in business. Don't bite your nose off to spite your face. That's just my two cents.

    1. I'm sorry, but how exactly does one bite their own nose off?

  8. Very delicious ice cream, but fell apart so so easily after one bite. I wasn’t prepared for that to happen so I was holding it together with my hand while I scrambled for a bowl lol
