Ben & Jerry's & Netflix

It's kind of weird to think that I've only had three new pints from Ben & Jerry's this year (to be fair, I've also picked up pints like fan favorite Cannoli and also Gimme S'more!). The pandemic has been the issue ofcourse. Between being cut off from the majority of stores I regularly visit to the fact that I won't bring any nut-based products home, I just didn't have that many options.

Ben & Jerry's Punch Line Ice Cream
A comedic duo of brown butter bourbon & almond ice creams
with roasted almonds & chuckles of cherries

This is the latest limited edition collaboration with Netflix and is hitting store shelves now (early December). The reviews seem fairly positive and I'm sure I would have tried this one on a lunchbreak during the old days. Anyone plan on trying it?

Ben & Jerry's boots on the moooo'n Ice Cream
A universe of milk chocolate ice cream with fudge cows
& toffee meteor clusters orbiting a sugar cookie dough core.

I realized that I never posted this terrible picture that I took of boots on the mooo'n either. This picture is from July but I'm pretty sure I saw a few pints of this sitting on the Stop & Shelf shelf as I was taking the picture of Punch Line. (why didn't I take a new picture of it? whoops). I was very tempted to try this one before I confirmed there were almonds in the toffee. I can't imagine I wouldn't have enjoyed this, especially with the sugar cookie dough core (also seen here).

P.S. I keep looking for the two new snackable cookie doughs but the few stores I visit aren't carrying them. Sniff Sniff. Anyone had any luck finding them?

  1. No luck finding the new pints in NJ. Ill try the new flavor, although I'm not a huge nut person. Lately B&J isn't impressing me :(

  2. I found the "wake and no bake" at Meijer in Michigan last night. I haven't had a chance to try it yet. I'm a huge fan of no bake cookies, so I'm looking forward to trying some tonight after work!

  3. I've gotten the new cookie dough flavors from Target. They were both fine but I would have liked if the Cinnamon Buns one emphasized the cinnamon more and the frosting less.

The B&J pint situation is pretty bad this year imo. The one i'm happiest about (and have purchased the most) is the re-release of peanut butter half baked.

I've haven't tried Punch Line yet but of the new flavors that I've had my ranking is:

    1-Netflix & Chill'd
2-Chip Happens (i love salty + sweet but I wish this pint wasn't so one note)
3- The Non-dairy version Milk and Cookies (milk and cookies isn't new but the non-dairy I think is)

    ...Huge Gap...

    4-Chocolate Peanut Butter Split
    5-Non-dairy Mint Chocolate Cookie
    6-Non-dairy Creme Brulee
    7-Boots on the Moon
8-Berry Sweet Mascarpone (this one of the worst worst B&J flavors I've ever had, it had little flavor)

  4. Boots on The Moon is a solid pickup. A different mix of flavors but they work well.

Do you mean cookie dough pint flavors of the new packages of the cookie dough?

  5. I meant the snackable dough (I tweaked my wording in the post to reflect this).

  6. Not about this post really, but got a question for Dubba--Is Turkey Hill available nationally? Working on a book and wanted to reference it but didn't know if it's ubiquitous.

  7. Nope, east coast thing based out of Pennsylvania (though they may be in some place like Nevada, but don't quote me on that). You could probably ask them, they're pretty nice :)

  8. The cookie dough is at target anyways and Really Good. The best they put out

  9. Okay, so you were talking about the cookie dough pieces, which I haven't tried. But, the wake and no bake was pretty decent. The cookie dough core was amazing - but there just wasn't enough of it to go around. The pb cookie dough pieces were okay, but there weren't enough of those either. And, there definitely wasn't enough chocolate. I started buying Ben and Jerry's ice cream because they had the perfect ice cream to inclusion ratio - but they don't seem to be putting as many of the extras into their ice cream lately. I probably won't buy that flavor again. It was good, but not that good.

  10. I found Punch Line at Shoprite today, and felt rather victorious buying it for $2.88. I wish they had dialed up the cherry and bourbon flavors and dialed down the almond. Even an addition of a brown butter swirl would've been nice, in lieu of the almond pieces. I appreciate their attempt but it was a bit too mature of a flavor for me.
