Sweet Loren's Cookie Dough

Everyone remembers I love cookie dough right? I pretty much always have my eyes open for a new version to try and that's when I found this.

Now it's gluten free and vegan, which isn't my usual jam, but what matters to me is that it's nut and dairy free! So that means my son will be helping me try these.

We crack open the cookie dough. It's not love at first scoop, but it grows on me with every small sampling. You really don't need much to cure the cookie dough urge which is good (disclaimer: I would never recommend eating large quantities of cookie dough).

My biggest critique would be that I wanted something a little more buttery but on the plus side, I think it has a better texture than the Big Dipper cookie dough I tried over the summer. See, I need grit in my cookie dough, I want to feel like these components have just come together. I get that more here than I did with Big Dipper.

Now my son only tried a little because it's still not his thing yet, but what he did devour was the chocolate cookies. I got one, my wife got one, and he inhaled the other ten (in a few sittings, not all at once). He loves chocolate chocolate chip cookies and he made short work of these. I probably wouldn't buy these all the time since it works out to 50 cents per fairly small cookie, but it's nice to have the safe option available for him.

As for the edible cookie dough, it's $6.99 a container, but yeah, I'll be buying that again too. I may even get daring and try the birthday cake flavor. If you are interested, the place and bake cookies also come in chocolate chunk, sugar cookie, and oatmeal cranberry flavors.

Follow up: We tried cooking the last of the edible cookie dough.... this picture is before they cooled and flattened....  Think I'll stick to scooping it!

Verdict?  Good!
Buy Again?  Yup!

  1. But if you are going to be eating it as a cookie, is it really anything special, you might as well get bake-first only then, right?

  2. i may have read that wrong but here goes: you can bake the edible version, but I don't think I would buy it for that purpose, I would buy the bake-only version if I planned on baking it.

did I answer correctly? (it's early)

  3. i think so---don't bother with edible cookie dough unless you want to eat it raw

  4. Yeah, it's a bit too hard to scoop from the container, pre-made portions much easier to manage
