Graeter's Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Ok, I just don't have the drive to do a Friday night fight (it takes way longer than you might think), so I headed down to the freezer to find something that we can cover quickly.

Yup, this free pint of Graeter's Chocolate Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip ice cream will do just fine. Now I don't really see a description but I'm thinking chocolate with a peanut butter swirl and big ol' graeter's chocolate chips mixed in. Graeter's Peppermint is probably the best peppermint ice cream I've had, so let's see what they can do with peanut butter.

Hey, that's no swirl!
(though maybe it's hiding)

Ok, spoons ready? Let's dig in!

Wow, I totally taste peanut butter cookie on these first few scoops!
How did they do that?
Let's go back and look really closely at the label.

Ha! It doesn't show peanuts, instead it shows peanut butter cookies! Awesome, very very cool. I've always been a sucker for peanut butter cookies (and hopefully a nearby cold glass of milk), so how neat is it to meet my old friend here in this delightful pint?

You know, I wish this pint had a description on it... let's head over to the website.... Hey, wait, this flavor isn't on their website! ....but what's this Buckeye Blitz? "Our premium chocolate ice cream that has been fortified with our creamy peanut butter flavor and loaded with peanut butter cookie dough pieces and our signature chocolate chips." Oh yeah, now this flavor makes sense. The chocolate base tastes like peanut butter because it's got peanut butter in it, hehehehe, genius! It's a real nice pb too. I was definitely torn between whether I was tasting a natural peanut butter, or I was tasting pb cookie, but this explains it, I taste both!

All in all, i managed to eat about 1 serving. This one is excellent, but it's so rich and filling that I dont need anymore. Just scoop this was slowly and rock every taste filled bite. If I had to make just one teeny tiny correction, I would ditch the big chocolate chips. Thankfully most of them were small and were adding nice little chocolate boosts here and there, but after I hit a giant two inch slab of chocolate, I was pretty much done for the night.

Wait, saying chocolate boost might give you the wrong impression. The base is very chocolaty, in a chocolate & pb kind of way. I know sometimes I seem to get hung up this mild watery vibe that comes from the Graeter's chocolate chips, but the pb chunks totally overrode that vibe here. You know it's funny because I think the more pb cookie dough I hit, the less I tasted peanut butter. I think I was just becoming overwhelmed with excellence here. I'm totally going super slow on the second scoop.

Verdict?  EXCELLENT
