What flavor do you dream in?

Behold, the power of the internet!

Coney Island Waffle Cone

Black Raspberry Avalanche

I had totally forgotten about super premium Dreamery ice cream til, well, til today. It seems like an eternity since I've seen those artful pints in the freezer. Actually, I had to watch the ads a few times before the little light went on my head that reminded me I had seen these before. I had heard that the Dreamery line was gone, and I didn't question this since I can't remember the last time I saw it, but Dreamery still exists! Check out their website here. That's right, they live and currently offer *23* flavors. Funny, they have the old Edy's commercials on their website.

Before discovering their website today (Friday), I did an internet search for flavors yesterday (Thursday). This following history and flavor list is compiled from my random Google searches. It appears that flavors ran around 25% total fat and 40% saturated fat (plus 20%+ cholesterol).

summer 2003: Dreyers sells Dreamery (and Whole Fruit and Godiva ice cream) to CoolBrands so Dreyers (Edys) can merge with Nestle.

Dec 2005: International Franchise Corp. acquired Yogen Fruz and CoolBrands International's franchise division (that would explain why they have an office in Barbados)

Just to reiterate, Dreamery is not dead! I am going to contact them and try to get an official statement. I'll do my best to track some pints down and do some reviews.

  2. I was just thinking of "Grandma's Cookie Jar" ice cream, and my search led me here. Loved the stuff! It was actually vanilla ice cream with choc chip cookie dough, peanut butter cookie dough, and choc (choc chip?) cookie dough in it. I was addicted to it, then it disappeared. Oh, how I wish they'd bring it back!

Oh well, ice cream is one of my favorite foods, and I'm glad I stumbled across this site!

  3. Someone posted a comment on another post and said they have talked with Dreamery in Ontario and they hope to have their product out by the end of the year!

  4. I was ADDICTED to Coney Island WC flavor and also have written them. Have not gotta a reply. I had looked them up occasionally over the years hoping to see who the new distributor would be. Didn't know the "specialty" ice cream market was so fierce. I have tried other brands and nobody matches it. Dreyer's temporarily had their 'Loaded" line with a coney island that was as close as anyone has come but that didnt last either.

  5. Do you mean the Dreyers/Edys Loaded caramel crunch? that is/was good stuff!

I never got a response either, but I will try again as the year draws to a close.
