[New for Fall 2026] You've probably noticed that I am far less willing to buy snacks that I'm not sure I will eat, but darn it, I just can't resist bringing both of these homes at $5.47 a piece. Which will I crack open first? Or will I just open them both now? Yeah... it's probably going to be both now. Let's open up...

Bettergoods Peppermint Ice Cream Bites
Bettergoods Hot Cocoa Ice Cream Bites
Which sounds better to you? Peppermint ice cream enrobed in a chocolatey coating with peppermint pieces, or chocolate ice cream enrobed in chocolatey coating with mini marshmallow pieces? Actually, now that I say that, why couldn't they make a box with both ?

They kind of look like giant chocolate chip morsels. Also, silly me for assuming that these would be split apart somehow. Not only are they not individually wrapped (which would be silly at this size), but many of them are stuck together.
I put these two on a plate and then bagged the rest of for later. As I was bagging, I went "ohhh, there's an extra mini one in tray". Yeah, it wasn't an extra, it was just a poorly formed one.

I was surprised that I could slice them open without crushing them. It must be the thin shell that allows for slicing without smooshing.
I was just going to take pictures now (when the lighting was right), but I decided to give them a try.
Peppermint is fine. No major complaints. I would like it if maybe the peppermint was a bit more effervescent, but overall, fine.
Jury is out on the hot cocoa. The artificial marshmallow stuck out more than anything and I worry that it's going to annoy me the more I eat of these.
I'll have a few of each of these this week so as to give them a proper second try now that the ground work is laid for understanding what these really are.
On Second Scoop: I have a peppermint bite and confirm that they are respectable. I would love a slightly thicker shell here, but they are solid either way. I have a cocoa bite and confirm that I'm not sure how I feel about them, so I eat 3 more. They aren't amazing, but they kind of work. I will say that the shell thickness is less of an issue since we have another chocolate component here. I would recommend trying peppermint first (if you like minty things ofcourse). In the end, it's up to you if you want to try these or not.
Verdict? Peppermint > Hot Cocoa
Buy Again? Maybe
