Tillamook Cookies & Cream Ice Cream Bars

[New for 2026] Tillamook continues to keep mainstream ice cream alive with four new ice cream bars. We've got Tillamook Mudslide, Vanilla Bean, Mint Chocolate Chip, and...

Well, this bar is....  fine I guess. I think the problem is that I've been spoiled by more premium bars from B&J and H-D (and Magnum), so the lighter ice cream wrapped in a thinner shell is fine, but not mind blowing by any means.

To put it another way, I think I would have dug this bar more if the C&C vibe was stronger. It's there, but it's mild. The shell should either be a darker chocolate or should have some cookie bits in it to make this a proper C&C bar.

I'm sure people will enjoy this bar, I had just hoped for a bit more (because I'm being picky).

Wait... This bar has kind of grown on me because I realized that it kind of reminds me of a Klondike Bar (from before I stopped buying them because of lower quality). Now what I think is that the chocolate coating just needs to be a bit more unique to drive up the Klondike vibe.

I'm thinking the second try will go better.

On Second Scoop: These are not bad bars, but they could use some tweaking. If it had more cookie bits, and then had a darker shell to accentuate those cookie bits, then these could really be something. As is, they are a decent bar, but I love C&C too much to fully enjoy them. [They didn't make me think of Klondike bars this time either]

Verdict?  not bad

  1. Have you ever thought that at the price point, they are really just fine. Maybe you are not the target audience for some of these novelties? I think back to when I was a kid and what I liked. It's way different now. But I currently have three kids, and they dig this kind of stuff all day long. They actually prefer it to my more upscale tastes like Haagen Dazs, etc. The super premium ice cream is meant to be savored more. Kids are generally into this softer, more palatable stuff. Now I'm not saying that kids have bad taste. Mine are discriminating to some extent. But these bars look fun, and appeal is big to kiddos too. Just my two cents.

    1. I'm definitely spoiled (and older), but it's the lack of strong C&C flavoring that is bothering me more than anything else. There's a good chance that one of the other bars will click better with me.
