[New for Early 2026] My apologies to Hudsonville Ice Cream, I didn't realize that it had been so long since I bought a container of their ice cream. I'm going to try and rectify the lack of Hudsonville on the blog this year. Let's start with one of their three new big container flavors...

Hudsonville Brownie Sundae Ice Cream
vanilla ice cream with chocolate brownie chunks, rainbow sprinkles, and a fudge swirl

I see sprinkles!
So soft, maybe I got it from the freezer at a warmer moment...
I'm not sure how I feel on these first two bites. The brownies seem a bit chewy at first.

As my wife just said to me, the sprinkles are fun.
I'm learning to appreciate the size of these thin sliced brownies. They give you both flavor and texture instead of jsut being some annoying little cube. They are growing on me, though maybe don't eat them by themselves since they are a bit strong.
Something is bugging me about how the flavors come together, though I'm not sure I can describe it. Maybe it's how they make their ice cream in general combining with a lot of sweetness.
I think they should have went with caramel ice cream. It's too hard to replicate the original vanilla ice cream and brownies sundae experience, so why not give us something different?
I could really use a pretzel right now....
So, it's a fine mainstream offering that plenty of people will enjoy, I just would have attacked it differently.
On Second Scoop: So my wife seems to really like this one, but I wound up adding a bit of other ice cream just to balance things out the sweetness and texture.

I don't think I'll try Dirt Cake, but I will pick up Birthday Cake once Hannaford starts to carry it.
Verdict? too sweet?
